The Blooming Pedals of Spring
Bright iridescent lights flow through the windows. Warm breeze fills the room to welcome a new day. Groggy and lazy you tumble around struggling to get up. You check the time only to be right on time with the morning routines. You shuffle to get up and find a bed of flowers surrounding you. Yellow golden pedals blooming before your very eyes. You wonder if you’re still in a dream or that you’ve already died. You come to terms with whats been happening and you proceed with caution.

Don’t Interrupt My Daydreaming!
“I always wanted to know, and I always used to daydream, about what it would be like to stand on a really big stage and sing songs for a lot of people, songs that I had written… Daydreaming was kind of my №1 thing when I was little because I didn’t have much of a social life going on. “ — Taylor Swift

Who, what, when, where, why?
In the daily drone of doing things on repeat, it's hard not to get caught up in the who, when's, where's, and why's. We see ourselves with such a skewed point of view. When we look in the mirror we nitpick all the little things that make us who we are. Though we know that who we appear to be on the outside, is not us completely, we still tend to judge our own books by their cover. We see the imperfections and obsess over what we look like; but through our own eyes, we can forget who we are completely.

The Jump
There is an excess of inspirational quotes out there. Literal thousands encouraging you to just go with it; to take the plunge, trust in the process, trust in yourself and that by doing so, you will succeed. There is nothing wrong with that however, they are only that. A collection of powerful words, sayings, mottos and word plays. They can be used in great ways, helping to gently coax a person out of their comfort zones (which I think is the real ‘C’ word these days) so that they may experience the richness the world has to offer. For me, personally, I try to live my life guided by such things yet I learned the hard way that gentle coaxing was not enough.

Mountains or Molehills?
Today, our writing group met to write...epic fail! We did zero writing. Haha, I’m making up for it with rambling, essay form, testimony. Who is it for anyway?!? Myself, mostly, so let me announce my self-centeredness and get that out of the way. Moreover, let me respond further to my rhetorical question; it's for no one and everyone.

A Parting Gift
Shelly sat at the kitchen table and reached for her daily lifeline. While for most folks that would be a strong cup of coffee, Shelly relied on a different tool each morning: the small black notebook she took everywhere. Whether she was referencing her schedule for the day or journaling about her wildest dreams, this notebook had everything she needed to go out and face the world each day.

A Baton Passed
The money wasn't going to change his life. Nor did he need it to. In the years before his Uncle's unanticipated passing, he had remained financially comfortable. Some might even say prosperous. To many, his life would be seen as well-off, beyond suitable--enough. And they would be right. He was okay. Happy. Content. And though he was of course grateful for the benefaction from his late relative, he would gladly pay $20,000 of his own to have his Uncle back. Even just for one last story.

The Last Conversation
Today is going to be a long day. I had no money to take an Uber and I was expected to be at the hospital in 15 minutes. It is a 30 minute walk. So I start my journey. After finally arriving, I got a text from Aaron. It said, “I love you, don’t worry we will find a way to make it happen.” I love my husband to death. He is always so hopeful. I can only pray he is right. The exam to get my medical license is in 2 weeks and I don’t have the money to pay for it. Those sad thoughts can wait. Now its time to start visiting todays patients.

Follow Your Bliss
I close my eyes and just breathe. The air never tastes clean in Las Vegas, most of the city smells like a mixture of piss and melting asphalt. In these early mornings, though, the air almost feels cleaner. Before the relentless sun bakes everything and you can feel the pollution as a layer of grime on your skin. I let the noise of the city fade, focusing my awareness into my body. The sun warms my skin. A light breeze caresses me. Dancing across my face, weaving through my eyelashes in playful wonder. I anchor into this peaceful moment. To the sensations. To the emotions. To the elements. I let them all flow through me, become me. I absorb their ecstatic joy, let it fill me. I am one with everything. Just one single thread in an endless tapestry. I can feel the heartbeat of the Earth herself, beating in tandem with mine. Whispering to me.

They say there’s a reason behind everything that happens in one’s life. Or perhaps that’s what I have come to believe, after what happened with a good friend of mine, Sam, not very long ago. He had just moved into our locality and had made quite a few friends in no time!
