How To Set Up A Vision Board

Visualize To Materialize

The ultimate girls night just got SOUL much better with this vision board project, pair this with my Skinny Blood Orange Martini and it's bound to be a hit.

BTW. This martini features Christie Brinkley's, new zero calorie, zero carb, zero sugar (sold) Prosecco - which is, basically all I drink now. Recipe here.

Now onto the BEST vision board tips to help stimulate your mindset every day and motivate you to stick to your goals.

1. Make A List Of Your Goals

Before you start clipping out flower crowns - establish your BIG dreams.

The whole purpose of your vision board is to dream really above and beyond what you feel is possible because this will really get your energy flowing and get your mind EXCITED about your BIG life goals.

I find this makes step one really fun, really exciting and very simple: Allow yourself to dream because everything you can visualize, you can absolutely materialize.

Now that you know this to be facts - allow your BIG dreams to be above and beyond your wildest thoughts and make a list of your big, big, BIG time goals.

This can be anything from your dream wedding location, to your future job aspirations, to the puppy you really want to adopt in ten years but the idea is to make sure you get ALL of your big time dreams on paper.

2. Pick A Theme

Most likely, you'll be using the magazines you have laying around your house but this next step really helps you get the right content (and magazines) for your board.

Pick a theme and separate your goals into categories.

Out of all your goals, what do you think they really symbolize? What's the vibe? Do these goals create a feeling in your heart? They do and that's definitely your theme.

Another way to figure out your theme is to simply separate your goals into categories such as health, finance, career, love, etc.

By using separate categories you can organize the "vibe" you want to create on your vision board. For example, if your vision board is your "dream lifestyle" the theme is probably exciting, energetic and inspiring.

If your vision board is your "dream vacation" the theme is probably based on that destinations vibe: "relaxing, tropical, historical, adventurous, artistic, etc."

Overall the "theme" is just the "vibe" of your board and it's meant to create "all the feels" when you walk by it each day- so don't be afraid to GO BIG on the vibes.

Creating a positive vibration is the MOST important part of your theme so definitely don't be afraid to cut out mind expanding items that help your mindset open up to new possibilities.

It's all about creating new energy, new passions, new focus - for your NEW year and your NEW goals ahead.

Here are a few themes to help you get started: Determined + Relaxed + Tropical + Adventurous + Wedding + Abundance + Affluence + Exciting + Boss Mode + Health + Happiness + Wealth + Beauty + Wellness + Creative + Successful + Family

3. Background

The base of any good vision board is stimulated by positive images.

As you create your board, try to cut out pictures that you find appealing and place them in the background.

Subconsciously, your brain is always observing and taking notes every time you walk by every single day- which is why your environment is KEY to maintaining positive vibes.

Once you hang up your vision board, your brain will also begin to absorb those "subliminal" images you've selected so if you're planning a tropical vacation, use a relaxing beach picture as the background - maybe even include a picture of a nice resort or spa setting to help you visualize.

This will help your brain stimulate and process pictures of YOU on vacation and even come up with new ideas on how to make that happen.

4. Words Are Power

Next, add empowering affirmations that invite you to repeat them. Big + bold + expressive = anything that jumps out and really empowers YOU.

The whole idea of a vision board is to "speak" to you as you walk by it everyday and serve as a reminder to never lose sight of those big dreams- while encouraging you to stay focused, simultaneously.

Try to find bright, big, powerful keywords that you can say or read as you review your board each day, such as "health, wellness, love, power, vacation, happiness".

You can also download keywords on pinterest here.

5. Dream BIG

There's no limit to the size of your dream or the size of your vision board. When creating a vision board - it's best to start with one theme and then add more layers as you go.

Start with your goals, begin to cut out your theme, add your images for the background, add your words of affirmation and then layer it up and expand as you see fit.

The idea is to just: DREAM = BIG = ALL = WAYS (and) STIMULATE + POSITIVE + ENERGY

Your life is exactly what you make it so allow yourself to believe in the beauty of your dreams.

I actually read a quote the other day that said "doubters are just dreamers with broken hearts" - and that quote made it so clear why we begin to doubt when others doubt us; so don't let your dream be something you only think about when you fall asleep.

Wake up and dream BIG because you can absolutely achieve it, I don't care how big it is - as long as you put in work, you will own the dream.

The first step is just ALLOWING yourself to dream big enough to see it, imagine long enough to create your vision and achieve your dreams!
