Unwind Negative Thoughts + Start Fresh

Setting the tone for the day is not always easy when it's usually the ring of your alarm clock.

However, how you spend the first 15 minutes of your day MATTERS. In fact, it can mentally make or break your entire day.

Today, I want to share 5 positive affirmations to help you rewire your brain for positive thinking or at least remind you - that there is another way to think about life.

It may take a little practice but once you get in the habit of saying these affirmations every morning, it will truly help you capture the energy for the day ahead.

At first, your brain might fight you on some of these statements, for instance, your brain may say, "Wait, what? you're not in a good mood, remember the traffic" ..or...."Wait, what? you're not rich, you have so many bills this month"...

And, that brain war is actually a very normal and natural response when you first start practicing daily affirmations.

The trick is to simply repeat each sentence until it begins to resonate with your mind without the fight; meaning, you can at least say the sentence without the "brain manager" popping in to review today's list of problems.

Sure, maybe you will not believe every single affirmation (just yet) but with practice, you can begin to override those negative thoughts, all together.

The only rule is to simply repeat the sentence at least ten times before you move on to the next sentence. Let's move on to our daily affirmations!

Positive Affirmation #1. I choose to be in a good mood.

The reality is you do get to choose. You choose the spouse. You choose the house. You choose the job. You choose the car. You choose the clothes. You choose the coffee. You choose the mood.

Whether you were actively participating in your choices is a topic for another day - because (before you say it) you can absolutely be influenced to make choices.

Money can influence what job you take. The outer appearance of a person can influence who you date. An advertisement can influence the type of car you buy.

Regardless, if you actively or inactively participate, you're always making a decision and choices are occurring throughout your whole day. Yes, even in a seemingly "boring" day - there are thousands of choices for you to make.

The good news? You can choose your mood and it's the easiest thing to do. Ready? Simply, choose to be in a good mood.

Yup. You choose it. Every morning, wake up and just choose to be in a GREAT mood- for no reason, other than it is a new day.

New day, new coffee, new outfit, new projects- it's time to get after it.

The only way to truly make better clear conscious decisions throughout your new day is to get yourself in a GREAT mood every single morning by simply claiming it.

You don't need an actual reason to be happy, you just need to actively participate in claiming it. Claim your day as your own. Claim your mood as your own. Every morning. Or others will do it for you. Yup, even the toddler is capable of picking your mood for you so that's why you should probably decide now.

Ready to claim your day back? Repeat this 10 times when you wake up for the next 30 days: I choose to be in a good mood.

Positive Affirmation #2. I believe I can achieve anything.

Nothing is impossible. The fact that someone has done the very thing you wish you could do PROVES that it is possible.

The key here is no one said it would be easy or handed to you. So, grab your work ethic and choose to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

Believe that anything is possible and KNOW that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. This is the only way anyone achieves anything- they first had to BELIEVE they could do it.

Say this affirmation at least ten times in the morning for the next 30 days and watch your mind begin to shift.

Positive Affirmation #3. I am the architect of my life; I built its foundation and I choose its contents.

You are the creator of everything surrounding you right now.

From the meals you put together + to the home you build and furnish + to the job you race to every morning + to the spouse you kiss goodnight + to your vacation spots = you created every inch of your life.

You've hand selected it. Yes, just as you select curtains in a store, you've hand selected all the items in your life for your entire life.

You've even over prepared for it!

You were nervous to talk to "that girl" but you made a move anyways. You really wanted that job, so you spent hours on your resume. You've always dreamed of custom amenities so you saved part of your paycheck for years to purchase them.

The reality is you move, rearrange and build your life every day with your attention, interests, desires, and actions.

Your primary focus becomes who you are and your primary intentions have become the contents of your life.

If you focused on marriage, you're probably married, if you focused on a big career, you're probably moving up the ladder- it's your full focus and attention paired with your deep desires and intentions that set the tone for your life.

Whatever you have created, you've actively selected - just by thinking about it every day and applying all your attention and energy to it.

Now that you're aware of this - instead of being jealous of someones vacation, just choose more adventure. Choose to add more adventures to your life. Focus on your savings. Focus on your annual family vacation. Focus on building your personal dream life.

My advice? Choose the things you love and literally forget the rest. Repeat this ten times a day as a reminder: I am the architect of my life; I built its foundation and I choose its contents.

Positive Affirmation #4. I am abundant. I am worthy. I am loved. I am beautiful. I am successful. I am grateful. I am blessed. I am healthy. I am wealthy. I am happy.

If you feel uncomfortable with any of those phrases, I highly suggest you read them 100 times. The reality is your words have true power.

What you say about yourself matters and shockingly, what you say about others matters even more.

Why? - Because your words dictate your focus, it channels your intentions and takes up most of your attention. Aka it's all you think about and it becomes your whole world.

In short, your thoughts and words use your energy to either strengthen your thoughts of abundance or strengthen your thoughts of lack.

The solution? You only have time to say nice things about yourself, life and other people.

Today's challenge: Try to notice how many nice things you can say about yourself and the people around you.

I guarantee, it will be one of the best days of your life, if only for the renewed sense of energy.

Positive Affirmation #5. My life unfolds in amazing ways.

Have faith that life will always unfold exactly as it should.

In the spiritual realm, we call this: divine timing. It means, everything happens exactly when it should - no sooner, no later.

Now that you know this - why waste time worrying at all? Hand your problems over to divine timing and let it unfold.

Sure, stress happens, life happens, not every moment is picture perfect but, regardless of your past experiences, all experiences bring lessons of wisdom and strength.

All past experiences (good or bad) serve as purpose for your present day.

The truth is, just one simple shift in your life would have created a totally different version of you and brought you to a completely different state of reality.

This means that you are truly uniquely shaped. You are truly uniquely you. Trust in that. Trust that your life unfolds in amazing ways.

Sure, it's easier to trust when "everything's going right" - but you have always been and will always be shaped to move toward your ultimate destiny.

Have faith that your life truly unfolds in amazing ways, every day, because it is.
