Especially for working women

As a working mum of two, sometimes I find it really difficult to balance work and life and it’s hard to make sure I give my family the best that I can. You know, there are times when I’m so tired and stressed that I want to quit my job and just stay at home.

However, I’ve realised that working on a stressful job is not the only reason why you feel tired and sometimes it might also be just because you have a difficult day at home and there’s little balance in your life.

Here are 9 ways to mentally refresh after a stressful day at home with your children.

1 Plan Activities

In today’s world, you are always so busy and hardly get time to spend quality time with your loved ones. That’s why it’s very important that you plan activities for yourself.

Plan one or two fun activities that you can enjoy, whether its walking or a nice coffee.

2 Exercise

Getting out and doing physical activities helps you to release the built up stress that you feel inside.

However, you have to take caution that you don’t overdo the exercise. As long as you enjoy it, you will definitely feel much better. You could even do some of your favourite yoga poses as an added bonus.

3 Stay Connected

I love spending time with my daughter when I’m at home. She is so energetic that I want to spend as much time as possible with her. The best way to keep in touch with your child is through technology.

You can always stay in touch with them through a chat app like Whatsapp or Snapchat. You don’t have to go out, you just need to be on the computer and make sure you are available for them.

4 Read

Reading and listening to an audiobook helps you to relax and to focus.

You could find a book with inspiring stories and enjoy the soothing words of the author.

This way, you are guaranteed to go to a calm state of mind and your brain will be refreshed.

5 Cook a nice dinner

Dinner is the most important meal of the day and is a great way to feel more relaxed. This is where you can bring in your love for cooking and make a meal for your loved ones.

A nice, fresh and tasty dinner is something that you should all cherish and enjoy together.

Cooking can sometimes be a great way to have a bonding time together with your family and they will appreciate your efforts.

6 Laugh

Laughing is the best medicine that a person can have in times of stress.

Just laugh out loud and let the tension go away. You don’t need to think about anything, you just need to laugh and let go.

7 Call Your Friends

Your friend is the best way to relax and to release your stress.

The truth is that all of us experience stress at times, but we can’t solve the problem by ourselves. We need help from the outside world.

8 Meditate

Meditation is a great way to clear your mind.

This is the best thing you could do after a stressful day at home with your children.

9 Sleep

When you are tired, you need to sleep. Just sleep a long and good sleep and you will be refreshed the next day.

That’s why it’s so important to try and spend some time in a nice relaxing bed. That’s what you need to feel much better.
