There is a quote that I heard once and ever since then it finds its way back into every circumstance I find my self in. "Everything you want to attain in life is on the other side of fear."
Faith is the most expensive feeling to own because it means you believe in what you haven't seen. It's one thing to say something, but to do it is whole other situation. The thing with fear is you fabricate negative possibilities in another sense; you make excuses why it shouldn't be YOU, why YOU shouldn't even try. Which is sad, because the saying that your biggest enemy is YOURSELF turns out to be true. When you think about it, really, fear doesn't exist. What you call fear is actually your own thoughts or past experiences causing emotions that we want to run away from. The funny thing is that these ghosts you run away from never run out of stamina. They can keep going until the only one beaten and broken is you. But how long is this run going to last? When are you going to finally stop running from demons and confront them?
Here are some inspirational quotes from the people we look up to:
"Failure is an important part of your growth and developing resilience. Don't be afraid to fail."—Michelle Obama
"If you don't fall, how are going to know what getting up is like."—Stephen Curry
"Challenges are gifts that force us to search for a new center of gravity. Don't fight them. Just find a new way to stand."—Oprah Winfrey
"When you walk up to opportunity's door, don't knock on it. Kick that bitch in, smile, and introduce yourself."—Dwayne Johnson
"When you’re running and you are there, there’s a little person that talks to you and that little person says, 'Oh, I’m tired,' 'My lung’s about to pop,' 'I’m so hurt,' 'I’m so tired,' 'There’s no way I can possibly continue.' And you wanna quit. Right? That person, if you learn how to defeat that person when you’re running, you will learn how to not quit when things get hard in your life."—Will Smith
Today only lasts right now, and once it has passed, you can't get it back. Take chances and don't hold back. Faith is expensive because it's not easy to push yourself. It's expensive because you have to be willing to understand that even in faith there is disappointment and discouragement, and it's costly to fight off the voices that hold you back. Be the person who ten years from now doesn't have to ask, "What if?"
You can start your journey with STEP 1!
Make a plan and stick to it. Don't make excuses! And repeat.
Keep learning, fighting and laughing.
