His message: "I am the Guardian of the Healers. You are capable of great things on Earth as a healer and as a light for others to follow, but to do this you must burn brightly and to throw light into the shadows of your world. You give a great deal to others, but you must also make time for yourself. You need to rest and recharge-your energy tank requires refilling lest you become depleted.

Make time to meditate, rejuvinate, to relax, and above all, to laugh. You may love your work, but it does not define you. You also need time to be you...a wife, husband, mother, father, daughter, son, sister, or brother, or any other role you fulfil. He reminds us not to take ourselves or life too seriously. If we do, we risk forgetting that we are just one tiny cog in the great wheel of life.

XXVII Asclepius

Asclepius was the ancient Greek god of medicine, the son of Apollo. Upon meeting him for the first time, his opening words were: "Your modern image of the caduceus is incorrect!" He was a Healer of great repute in Greek mythology, and this dragon in particular reminds us that, inside us too, reside great healers.

His particular affinity lies with practioners who use healing plants: herbalism, homeopathy and essential oil and flower essences. Add to this his rather shamonic energy and his affinity with snakes, and he is a powerful ally. Asclepius is the dragon of the healer and the shaman; his wisdom is boundless.

His presence supports our grounding and brings focus to the moment. His aim is that we let go of linear time, for it is a manmade concept. His energy helps us to "enter the void" (which is particularly useful during meditation).

His message today is: "Now--this moment in time--is a gift, which is why it is called 'the present'. Allow all time to stop and break your habit of 'clock chasing' because in reality there is only now. Let yourself sink a little deeper into the abyss of quiet stillness and let go. The man-made concept of linear time is illusionary.

It only serves to fuel the doubts in your life. I am here to guide you to a more tranquil way of being, to be fully present in the moment." He goes on to say, "The stresses of your existence are often due to your preoccupation with time. Find your point of center, breathe and let go. Whether these anxieties are from a lack of time or a feeling of not being good enough, nothing is gained by being fretful.
