Courageous character is the character who faces the challenges and difficulties of life with confidence, and it is the character who acts based on his convictions and principles. You face your fears instead of running away from them. There are three types of courage you may have, one or more of them:

Physical courage is the courage with which you can put yourself at risk for the sake of others, such as the courage of firefighters and policemen that involves love of adventure and fearlessness.

Psychological courage of people who are able to face the painful aspects of their lives.

Moral courage is your ability to defend the truth whatever the results are, or defending your opinions, beliefs and principles, no matter how different they are from the opinions and beliefs of others.

How to Be Brave and Strong?

Courage is not a trait that you are born with, but rather an acquired trait, and you cannot acquire it easily in a few days, but you have to follow daily strategies to develop your sense of courage and physical strength.

Here are some tips to help you be more courageous and face your fears:

1- Keep the moments when you feel brave in your mind

When you feel brave one day because of a certain situation, keep these feelings in your mind as much as possible and try to remember them always; because the positive feelings that come to your mind will be a source of your strength and courage in the future and no matter how small the situation is that you felt brave it, remember and recall it, try to remember the times or situations that make you feel brave and strong and keep you away from fear and doubt.

2- Use your emotions as tools

Controlling emotions is the key to courage and getting rid of fear. Although controlling emotions may not be easy, but with training you will develop your tools with controlling your emotions. Use your emotions to motivate yourself in a positive way and to overcome your fears, for example if you are afraid of a situation, put yourself in it to break the fear barrier. This way, you will overcome your fear. Follow this strategy with all your fears after being frank with yourself and getting to know these fears up-close.

3- Ask yourself about the cause of fear

After you know your fear, ask yourself about the cause of this fear and whether you are able to do something to get rid of this fear. If you are afraid of something, think about the consequences that you will have to deal with if you face it. Have the courage and know that there are no disastrous results for your fears. Try to eliminate the cause of your fear, and if you can’t be brave at least pretend you’re not afraid so that you can influence your mind and be brave next time.

4- Practice

All life skills require long practice and training for you to acquire them like courage. Always practice pretending to be brave and strong and don’t be afraid to face your fears. Put yourself in situations that may make you anxious and stressed. Practice courage to actually gain it.

5- Lean on your friends

Friends and close people can be a strength for you, so make sure you surround yourself with positive people who love you, encourage you to face your fears, support you and stand by you if you are in a difficult situation or if you are facing fear.

If you have courage, you will be a stronger, a more satisfied and confident person.

Here are some of the benefits of being brave:

  1. Courage gives you the ability to stand up to bullies and the abuse you are subjected to, so you will not allow anyone to insult you. On the other hand, being brave does not mean hurting others or offending them back, for courage means wisdom in action.
  2. Courage enables you to do the things you love and believe are right for you. Courageous people often face their environment and society in order to do the things they love and desire. Courage gives you the strength to express your feelings and beliefs with confidence.
  3. Courage gives you the strength to deal with your fears and weaknesses and recognize them to turn them into strengths.
  4. Courage gives you the strength to try new things and take part in unique adventures in life.
  5. Courage gives you confidence in yourself and the ability to take responsibility for your decisions and actions.
  6. Courage will make you a happier person in life. You will not feel joy and happiness in your life if you are afraid.

To act bravely means to feel good; because courage means acting in such a way that you respond appropriately to the dangers that confront you, which gives you a feeling of confidence, where confidence leads into achieving success and attracting good feelings and results into your life.

  • Forgiving: to forgive and to leave the past behind indicates very great courage and psychological strength; because turning a new page in life or with people requires courage and tremendous psychological ability.
  • Respect yourself enough to say no: If you respect and value yourself to the point that you are able to say no to things that bother you and don’t suit you, that means you are brave.
  • Optimist: If you wake up every morning with optimism about a better day than the days that have passed, despite the difficulties and problems you face, it shows that you are a brave person.
