Sometimes it is difficult to try to regulate hormones, due to a variety of different reasons. However, there are many solutions you can try. Here are some of the most effective ways to get your hormone levels back to normal, and help your body function at its absolute best.

Exercise Often

For women who produce too much estrogen, exercise is actually a way to reduce levels and lead to less risk of diseases such as breast cancer. Conversely, breaking a sweat encourages an increase in testosterone, which can be extremely beneficial in burning fat and increasing sex drive. One of the most important hormones released during your workout, however, is cortisol, which is a hormone that helps to regulate your stress levels and provide your body with emotional stability when faced with high pressure situations. Exercises with low intensity, like yoga, have been shown to decrease cortisol levels.

Try Hormone Supplements

Another solution for getting your hormones back under your control is through a hormone balance supplement. These types of supplements are crafted for women. When hormones are regulated, you can have a much better quality of sleep, easier menstrual cycles, and manage your weight. A hormone supplement contains the proper ingredients to take the guesswork out of regulating your own hormones. These types of capsules can be taken on a daily basis, and usually contain all natural ingredients, such as ashwagandha and chasteberry. They can also supply you with other essential nutrients to improve your overall health and well being.

Use Hormonal Birth Control

A popular way for women to control their sex lives, menstrual cycles, and hormone levels is through the use of contraceptives. This can be in the form of a pill taken daily, a patch, a shot, or even an implant that is embedded in the arm. The two main hormones release through birth control are estrogen and progesterone, which prevents ovulation, or the fertilization of the egg. Over long periods of time, contraceptives can help to correct side effects of hormonal imbalance, like fatigue and depression, lower sex drive, or even issues such as acne. Many women who use contraceptives do so for the main benefit of avoiding pregnancy, but some of the other benefits, including hormone regulation, are a major bonus.

Change Your Diet

Generally, eating more healthy and making better food choices will lead to feeling better and balanced, but there are a variety of specific options that have been proven to increase hormone levels. Protein is essential to the production of hormones that helps to curb appetite and cravings. Therefore, if you are on a diet and trying to stick to lower calorie alternatives, then it may be a good idea to increase the protein that you are consuming through your regular meal plan. Additionally, adding healthy fats like fish elevate levels of hormones that lead you to feeling full more quickly, which will prevent you from overindulging. In general, substitute trans fats with healthy fats for maximum benefit.

Get Outdoors

As we gravitate more and more towards staying inside for the majority of the day, it is more integral than ever to ensure that you are spending time outside. It is recommended to get at least twenty to thirty minutes of outdoor time every day for maximum benefit. Just taking a quick walk in nature can drastically reduce cortisol levels, which can lead to feeling less stressful and increasing happiness and productivity. Try getting out for a walk in the sunshine on your lunch break at work, or taking an easy hike on a weekend afternoon with your family. You can even bring your dog with you.

Although many women suffer from hormone imbalances, it does not have to be a complex task to try and balance your hormone levels. With these tips, you are sure to find a solution that works best for you, and will improve your hormones and your quality of life as well.
