Subjective Proof

God is not an Object

What does this mean?

This is going to be a tricky topic to even talk about, so I commend your courage in delving into this with me. The rabbit hole is not something outside ourselves that we fall into, but rather the gateway that takes us into limitless infinity within ourselves.

When people debate about God, most often they are talking about an idea that they imagine is outside themselves. Atheists will have a picture of the God they are denying. Christians may picture Jesus on the cross. There are as many images and interpretations of God as there are people. We can see where we would start to get into muddy waters trying to prove or disprove God as a concept. Since not everyone agrees on what God is or isn't in the first place, the "proof" would itself only be subjective as well.

From my subjective experience, God is not like an apple. It is not something we can hold up and examine from all sides as a group. I can't take a bite of God and then share the rest with a friend. The closest we can come is something like an awe-inspiring sunset. A group of people may all behold a beautiful sight, and feel the presence of God within that phenomenon. God itself, however, cannot be objectively proven, only subjectively experienced.

That is why organized religious beliefs are being questioned and people are embracing their inner spirituality and mysticism. I don't need anyone to tell me who or what God is since I have the inner resources to discover that reality for myself. Through meditation and other practices I can come to clarity about the big issues that lie within the human psyche and resolve a lot of the conditioning that has limited our experience. In the same way, I don't need scientific studies to tell me what is real and what is illusion. We all have this capacity of discernment and intuition to come to our own understandings about the greater realities of life, including the truth of our own selves.

This brings the ultimate reality of God back to the level of supreme subjectivity rather than as an elusive object. Our consciousness is the only undeniable aspect of life. We are currently deconstructing the prevailing biological/material models that suggest that consciousness is an accidental byproduct of biological factors. Everything in our experience comes and goes within this consciousness. I can look back through my lifetime and see how I had different thoughts, opinions, feelings, beliefs and so on. What remains constant is the awareness of all these comings and goings, like the sky that constantly allows all weather to come and go.

The logical step is to realize that we are, in fact, God itself. God lives within us, through us, and as us. This revelation reveals the reality of God amidst all forms, all phenomena. When I realize God to be the subject, then all is perceived as God in the objective world as well.

This is actually the "fountain of youth" that people have been looking for or trying to create. It is the truth of our own being, our own breath, and our realization of the inherent infinity that we are. The key to a long life and wellness is to realize that our nature is already eternal life, experiencing itself in different forms. We look to technology and drugs to prolong our lives and enhance our wellness. In my view we don't need to add anything to ourselves, we merely need to uncover what is seeming to obscure the truth that will then be self-evident.

There are many ways to strip away the layers of complex conditioning that we have inherited. Simply following our breath as often as we remember can have profoundly positive changes over time. Spending time in natural settings and the sun, in particular, can accelerate our own natural evolution as well. We don't need to necessarily acquire things to unlock wellness and longevity, although certain products can remind us of the inherent wellness that is already within. Our intuition is the key to recognize what we need at any given time.

This is a flimsy and ultimately futile way of attempting to describe the massive shift towards unity consciousness that humanity is currently undertaking. Many people talk about how "all is one." There is no way to necessarily prove that to anybody; the idea is to delve into the mystery for ourselves and let the truth be revealed. I call my counseling practice "Seeds of Love" because that is what I attempt to plant in my writings and sessions with people. If the seed is already planted, then it is a matter of cultivating it until it sprouts and grows strong and is able to flower for the benefit of the entire garden. For myself, this is the reality of God in action.
