We all feel like our lives are broken at times but there are ways to change that. By implementing good habits into our days, we can change the outcomes we are most used to.

Feeling over weight? Start going to the gym more.

Want to learn a new skill? Create a schedule to practice it and stick to it.

There are ways you can create the life you want to live but you have to put the work in. Change what you do on a daily basis in a way that helps you achieve your goals.

They don’t have to be drastic changes but if you want to be better you have to make some changes.

Don’t organize by Convenience

Stay with me here. This might sound like lunacy but there’s a method to this madness.

Technology has made our daily lives too easy in my opinion. You wake up and you have your coffee set to pour from the night before and whatever you want to know is right in front of you on your phone.

So how do we get our daily exercise in if we are expending less energy to do certain tasks?

We create an extra step in our days that forces us to move more.

Now, we must make changes to ensure we get what is necessary in our days, like enough moving around.

We have become too lazy and as a result don’t get the same amount of exercise naturally throughout the day.

You can make time for it or you can purposely put everyday things in different places. Put your coffee mug on a higher shelf just so you have to move a little bit extra.

Make Your Bed

It’s how you start the day. You wake up in the morning, or later if you work nights, and get out of bed.

If you work from home, it’s difficult to really get moving. Once you get up, make your bed the second you’re out of it.

It can help boost your mood as you have already completed a task for the day. One less thing to do means a little less stress.

For me it’s shows the day have started and it’s time to get to work. You will be less likely to jump back in if it looks made rather than slept in.

If you’re like me, you like seeing a nicely made bed and there’s something about seeing a messy bed that makes me think its ok to go back in it.

Compliments are key

They can change your day. How nice would it be to hear “great job” from your boss? Doesn’t happen as often as you would like.

But leaving work you hear “I love those shoes!” and your day is made.

The slightest compliment can brighten your day and its contagious. When you feel good, you want to make others feel good.

Even if you have to give them to yourself, do it.

How many times have I looked at myself in the mirror and liked the way I looked?

Not many, but I find something about myself that I like that day and say it to myself.

“My hair looks great today” will go a long way especially if I’m saying it in the morning and someone complements me later in the day.

Be the change you want to see in the world. It can all start with a ten second conversation. It will make you feel better. I know it does for me.

Final Thoughts

These habits may not be that hard to start but they are the changes you need to make for a better life.

Life I not meant to be convenient. Take your time and put the work in to getting what you want.

Nothing in life comes easy. One of the hardest things you do in the day is get out of bed and we do that every day.

Give yours self a pat on the back for accomplishing the first part of the day. what’s easy for you may be difficult for others. Be grateful for your starting point in making your life better and keep working towards your goals.
