From the moment the vaping industry became one of the most profitable businesses globally, vaping, vaping devices, and liquids have been courting controversy among the media and people alike.

Like everything else, vaping and e-cigs are now the target of many misconceptions and inaccuracies. From myths and misconceptions to hilarious complaints, there is a lot of noise you can hear about vaping today.

Most of it comes from media reporting and refers to the safety of vaping. While even the best premium vape juice isn't without some risk, when compared to smoking, vaping is still far less harmful. So, let's take a look at some of the funniest complaints about vape juice.

1. Vaping Gives You Lung Disease.

One of the most common hilarious complaints is that vaping can give you a lung disease known as popcorn lung. The majority of people started complaining about this when they found out that some flavorings in vape juices contain diacetyl, an extremely toxic chemical.

If exposed to high levels of diacetyl, the user might suffer from severe lung disease.

Even if some of the liquids still contain it, the chemical is present in lower dosages, which aren't enough to become a significant risk factor. Modern vape juices are entirely free of such toxic chemicals.

2. We Don't Know What's in Vape Juices.

Since the vaping industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, it's under the strictest regulation in the world, especially in the US. All vaping products are subject to strict industry standards of safety and quality, under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016.

The regulation also includes the minimum labeling and packaging requirements to ensure the consumers get all the necessary information they need to make educated decisions on their own. Modern vaping brands must give access to detailed information, including the listing of all ingredients in their vaping devices and e-liquids to the MHRA in the US.

3. All Vape Juices Contain Nicotine.

Due to a complete lack of knowledge, people will say anything to avoid admitting that they're wrong. Well, that goes for all those naysayers claiming vape juices contain nicotine and are, therefore, harmful and threatening for your health.

As we already mentioned a bit earlier, vaping brands must follow industry standards, rules, and regulations about the ingredients they are allowed to use. Many people wrongly think that nicotine is the leading cause of cancer in smokers, but that's not the case.

According to a study, nicotine is far less harmful to health than other chemicals found in cigarettes. However, nicotine is the leading causing factor of addiction. Vape juices don't contain carbon monoxide or tar, two of the most harmful ingredients found in cigarettes. Modern vape juices have little to no nicotine at all.

4. Vaping is Harmful to Bystanders.

Second-hand smoking is terrible for all exposed to it, which is why smoking is prohibited in enclosed workplaces and public places. However, vaping is excluded from these laws, leaving organizations free to make their regulations on the use of vaping devices and vape juice on their premises.

Vape juice typically contains four essential elements: flavorings, glycerine, propylene glycol, and nicotine. When you vape, there is no side-stream vapor, only the aerosol that they exhale. Up until now, there are no studies that point to any side effects or health risks associated with passive vaping.

Therefore, this is nothing but a false complaint from bystanders who either hate vaping or don't know enough to make an informed claim.

5. Vaping Is Just an Introduction to Smoking for Younger Generations.

Now, this complaint is less funny than it is dangerous. Fortunately, the internet is here to help us all discover the truth. So far, we haven't been able to find any study or report that offers even the slightest clue to whether vaping could be a route to smoking for younger people.

Younger generations are indeed into experimentation with vaping devices, but they are far from regular users. Vaping is more popular with younger people who already smoke than it is with non-smokers.

So, it's highly unlikely that young non-smokers will become more prone to smoking due to vaping. And since vaping seems so much cooler than smoking, they're far more likely to tap into vaping than smoking.

This complaint is almost like saying that vaping devices are sold by tobacco companies to keep people smoking when the reality is something completely different. Most complaints come from smokers, which is odd enough on its own.
