Every once in a while we all need to focus on renewing our energy and focus towards resetting the mind and body, and with this in mind we have collected some of the best detox juices to give you an added boost towards a healthier lifestyle. When a detox tastes this good there is no need to fall back into the cycle of relying on junk food to fill you.

Whether you are committing to a full juice cleanse or simply starting with one juice a day, juicing is one of the best ways to get back on track. Not only is juicing often the best way for your body to absorb the most vitamins and minerals from raw fruits and vegetables, but many common foods like citrus and kale contain potent detoxifying characteristics. Certain fruits and vegetables, when juiced, offer a completely natural way to detox the entire body. They make cleansing quick, easy, and delicious, plus there is no need to spend time searching out rare ingredients. The best detox juices are all made from common ingredients you likely have in your kitchen already!

Dark Green Cleanser

Dark green leafy foods such as kale, Swiss chard, and herbs like parsley, mint, and cilantro all pack a powerful punch when it comes to cleansing your digestive tract. They all contain high levels of chlorophyll, which helps to remove harsh environmental toxins from your body. These toxins tend to build up over time in your digestive system. Unfortunately these chemicals are commonplace in household cleaners, in city air, and even on the sprays used on non-organic foods. All the best detox juices should contain at least one dark leafy vegetable to specifically target these unwanted substances within our bodies. Dark green foods also flush out any heavy metals and herbicides that tend to hide out in your liver. The Dark Green Cleanser juice contains two greens, parsley and kale, but you can easily add many more like spinach, mint, cilantro, etc.

  • 1 bunch celery
  • 4-5 kale leaves
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 big handful of flat leaf parsley leaves
  • 1 lime
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cm of fresh ginger

For an added dark green kick, add one tablespoon of an algae powder like spirulina or other blue green algae. This will really make your juice pop!

Anti-Inflammatory Tonic

Who hasn’t heard of the healing benefits of turmeric? It is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory foods available, and nowadays fresh turmeric is widely available even outside health food stores. Turmeric tastes mildly spicy and earthy, and is easily incorporated into many juice detoxes. It specifically targets the liver, cleansing out unwanted toxins. This helps the liver better clean the blood and reduce whole body inflammation. As the liver is cleaned and supported by turmeric’s detoxifying effects, it also begins to produce a bile-like substance that flushes unwanted fats from the body. Fats are often a culprit in carrying and storing harsh chemicals inside the human body.

  • 2 cm fresh turmeric
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 cm fresh ginger
  • 1 orange
  • ½ lemon
  • 3 celery stalks

Tropical Sunrise

Adding lemon into your juicer will help elevate your normal juice into one of the best detox juices and its benefits go far beyond a simple cleanse and are some of the most well researched. Lemon’s basic atomic structure mimics the bile produced in your digestive system, convincing your body to create more. This allows it to better break down and process foods. Lemon also happens to sooth irritation and inflammation caused by irritable bowel syndrome or indigestion.

Citrus, as a family of fruits, all contain a huge array of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, vitamin B, and vitamin C. One lemon contains over 187 percent of your daily vitamin C requirement, and this little vitamin is essential to helping you get more out of the healthy food you are consuming and also levels out blood sugar levels.

  • 1 cup ripe papaya
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 2 cm piece peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ lemon

Cleansing Carrot

Never underestimate the power of the lowly carrot! This root vegetable helps to balance hormones by binding to excess estrogen hormones and allows them to be flushed through the intestine without being re-absorbed. The carrot fibre also helps to cleanse away pesky bacteria located inside our digestive tract. Carrots target inflammation within the gut, and of course are high in tons of essential vitamins and minerals. After all, carrots are famous for their vitamin A and beta-carotene levels. These essential vitamins help clear up blotchy skin and can even help fight acne. When juicing carrots, no need to peel them! Just wash them off prior to juicing to ensure no healthy benefits get washed down the drain. Most of the nutrients live in the skin!

  • 4 carrots
  • 1 cm fresh ginger
  • 1 green apple
  • ½ lemon

Beet and Ginger Elixir

Bright purple beet juice is beautiful to look at, but also a vital aspect of a thorough cleansing. Beets contain something called betalains, which is a phytonutrient. This phytonutrient activates enzymes that specifically bind to harmful toxins throughout the body and allows for them to be expelled. Beets are also an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory, plus they contain a whole host of vitamins and nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, and magnesium.

You may have also noticed that ginger makes an appearance on every single juice on our list. Ginger has been used in medicine for over 2,000 years, most commonly used to sooth upset stomachs and ease digestion issues. Because ginger contains both substances gingreol and shoga, it has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic capabilities. Increasing the amount of ginger in your diet, especially through these best detox juices, can ease stomach pain, diarrhea, gas, and bloating. All these issues inhibit the ability of the digestive tract to do its job as smoothly as possible but once ginger has your gut back on track, your body’s ability to expunge toxins and harsh chemicals dramatically increases.

  • 1 beet
  • 1 pink grapefruit, peeled
  • 2 cm ginger
  • ½ pomegranate, seeds only

Increase the cleansing capability! Add 2 cups of your favorite brewed herbal detox tea into one of these best detox juices. Some favorite mixtures include horsetail, elderflower, stinging nettle, and dandelion.
