An alginate mask is a mask that forms an airtight elastic dense substance, which retains moisture and promotes deeper penetration of nutrients into the skin. Alginate has the ability to retain a large amount of water molecules, thereby activating the protective properties of the skin and increasing its tone.

What is alginate?

Alginate is an extract from the seaweed laminaria. More precisely, it is a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide that consists of a block copolymer of D-mannuronic and L-guluronic acids. On average, the content of alginate acids in brown seaweeds ranges from 13 to 54% of the dry residue. The highest content of alginates in Far Eastern seaweeds is observed in August-September, while in northern species, it occurs in spring and autumn, making these times favorable for seaweed harvesting. In brown seaweeds, alginate acids are present in the form of soluble and insoluble salts - potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium alginates.

Types of alginate masks:

• Alginate masks for the face

• Alginate masks for the body

Properties of alginates:

• They have sorption activity.

• Alginates contribute to the removal of toxins, radionuclides, heavy metal salts, and fatty acids.

• They have regenerating and anti-inflammatory effects, improve blood circulation.

• They have a toning and vitaminizing effect. Their immunomodulatory effect has been proven.

• In cosmetology, alginates have a pronounced lifting effect (skin tightening), moisturize, nourish, smooth wrinkles, reduce swelling, and refresh the skin.

• They have a drainage effect.

• They contribute to weight loss and cellulite reduction.

Mechanism of action of alginate masks:

Alginate binds a large amount of water, which is several times more than the weight of the alginate itself. When the mask is mixed, it forms a gel-like substance rich in moisture, vitamins, and active components. When the gel solidifies on the skin, it forms a film that improves metabolic processes, cellular metabolism, and saturates all layers of the skin with moisture.

Indications and contraindications for using alginate masks:

The significant advantage of alginate masks for the skin is their universality. These products are suitable for women with any skin type (oily, dry, sensitive, normal, mature). It is especially beneficial to use alginate masks in the presence of the following issues:

• Aging skin

• Couperose, pigmentation

• Inflammatory elements on the face

• Imbalance of skin hydration. Cosmetologists often recommend alginate masks after intensive tanning in a solarium or spending time at the seaside.

• Scarred skin changes

• Cellulite

Types of alginate masks:

1. Alginate mask with marine collagen:

This mask has moisturizing and pronounced firming effects. It gently exfoliates, accelerates skin renewal, and smoothes the skin. It has a pronounced lifting effect and toning and softening properties.

Marine collagen is a building material for strengthening cellular structures. It increases skin elasticity, evens out the micro-relief, intensely moisturizes the epidermis, and nourishes the skin cells. It moisturizes, strengthens, softens, and increases the skin's elasticity, preventing premature aging.

2. Rejuvenating alginate mask:

Antioxidant mask "Blueberry + Vit C." This mask is recommended for mature and sensitive skin. It has soothing properties and nourishes the skin due to its high vitamin content. Thanks to the optimal ratio of vitamins B and C, it reduces the fragility of capillaries, strengthens the walls of.

3. Lifting DETOX MASK with Spirulina

Action of the mask:

• Moisturizes the upper layers of the epidermis

• Strengthens and lifts the skin

• Nourishes

The lifting (modeling) mask instantly refreshes and moisturizes the skin while lifting it. The mask contains spirulina. Spirulina is rich in provitamin A (10 to 15 times more than carrots), which is necessary for the restructuring of the epidermis. Vitamin A stimulates the synthesis of elastic fibers in fibroblasts. The proteins, vitamins, and fatty acids present in spirulina act on various levels. It softens, visibly nourishes, and protects the skin (vitamin E).

4. STIMULATING Alginate Mask "Energetic Cocktail"

Skin Radiance Mask, an energizing express care. Thanks to the stimulating cocktail of cocoa, coffee, ginseng, mint, and spices contained in the mask, the face instantly becomes filled with radiance and light.

Cocoa extract helps skin cells produce the energy needed for collagen synthesis and maintain its optimal level, activating metabolic processes in the tissues.

The combination of ginseng and alginate creates a lifting effect, making the skin more elastic. The mask has an anti-edema action. The refreshing "Energetic Cocktail" mask relieves irritation and tension caused by stress and fatigue. After applying the mask, the face appears healthier, fresher, with a noticeably juicier complexion, and the skin immediately awakens, tightens, and tones up. The mask energizes the face.

5. Alginate Mask "With Organic Apple Extract"

Thanks to the apple extract, the mask has antioxidant and toning properties, promoting skin regeneration and rejuvenation. Apple extract provides antibacterial protection, softens, and enriches the skin with vitamin C.

Bioflavonoids protect against adverse environmental conditions. Green apple extract contains pectin, which retains moisture in the skin and prevents dryness. The mask is used to combat couperose since the components of the extract strengthen the walls of blood vessels.

There are many different alginate masks, BUT it is important to carefully read for which skin type it is intended and ALWAYS read the instructions before use because it is crucial for the skin!
