Turkey Tail Mushrooms

There are more than 500 species of mushrooms out there. Turkey tail mushrooms are a species becoming more popular due to their therapeutic uses. Did you know that mushrooms have medicinal value?

The turkey tail mushroom is full of vitamins and minerals capable of improving your health and diet. They’re full of potassium and riboflavin and have a high content of niacin. That’s just the beginning, as they also have 18 amino acids and other essentials for positive health.

Take a look at what they might do for you.

The Common Cold: With the strong anti-viral properties possessed by Turkey tail, they can fight a variety of infections. Turkey tail boosts the immune system which helps fight disease-causing germs. People can experience better health by incorporating turkey tail mushrooms into their diet during cold and flu season.

Diabetes management: Turkey Tail mushrooms help reduce glucose levels in the body, which helps to manage diabetes. When I first started taking turkey tail, my A1C was 10.9. After four months of using Turkey Tail, my AIC on June 5th was 7.1.

Turkey tail is known to have anti-inflammatory properties: They can aid in reducing inflammation both internally and externally.

They are an Antioxidant Supplement: Antioxidants help protect us from the harmful UV radiations of the sun. They block free radicals that cause aging. Therefore, it can slow the aging process.

Cholesterol: Adding Turkey tail to your daily diet is believed to help reduce cholesterol levels. Since starting on this supplement, my cholesterol has come from borderline down to a healthy range in three months and without medication.

Digestive Health: The prebiotic content of the turkey tail mushroom assists the microbiome, helping to smooth the process of digestion.

Cancer treatment: There is ongoing research involving turkey tail and cancer patients. The results have been reported as positive in both breast and prostate cancer patients. When you go through chemotherapy, the immune system gets suppressed. The Turkey tail mushrooms can help strengthen the immune system. This can help alleviate the weakness caused by chemotherapy treatments. With a stronger immune system, it’s believed your body can help fight off the cancer cells.

Takeaways

In February of this year, I learned that I had cancer. It was a slow process getting through all the diagnostic tests to even get to chemotherapy. I saw an oncology doctor this week, and chemo starts on the 25th of this month.

I heard about turkey tail from a friend. She’d talked to a guy who had advanced stage 3 lung cancer. He reported to her that he’s been cancer-free for five years and he felt the turkey tail either greatly aided his fight with cancer, or kept him strong enough to get through the treatment as well as he did.

One of the things the advanced prostate cancer specialist and the oncologist both commented on was that I haven’t had to slow down. As the oncologist put it, I should be suffering mid-range effects of the cancer as advanced as it is. I’m a stage IV advanced cancer patient.

I started taking Turkey Tail within a week of hearing that I had prostate cancer. The cancer spread everywhere, and other than the doctors telling me I was sick, I barely knew. My system is staying strong. My diabetes is more controlled now than it was just four months ago. My cholesterol is down. And most of all, I’m staying healthy.

There are hundreds of articles in different journals that detail testing and potentially promising results from taking turkey tail supplements. They are an inexpensive supplement, and under my condition, I take them daily and feel great.

Thank you Jason. I am going to have to check this out myself. On my last PSA test the PSA level went up and that has me concerned. I am still well under the limit of concern. But I am concerned. I wouldn't be surprised if turkey tail also maybe an antifungal. I have been drinking a chlorella and spirulina powder. It seems to be helping out.
