All of us are super busy these days and always tired. We often have the urge to snooze the alarm just to get that extra ten minutes of sleep in the morning. Some do resist this urge because they can’t afford to be late once again for work. Others succumb to it like it will solve the problem and energize them.

Sort out your sleep schedule

Going to sleep at odd hours even though you have to wake up early in the morning won’t help your energy levels. We need to prioritize sleep if we want to be energized throughout the day. If you’re not sleeping well at night, try limiting coffee intake and get to sleep at a fixed time each night. Go to sleep at the same time every night and wake up at the same time in the morning. Test out how much sleep you need each night, but try sleeping at least 7 to 9 hours every night.

Eat regularly and eat right

Regular meals fuel your body at regular intervals. Eat a fiber-rich breakfast your body will take longer to metabolize and it will jumpstart your energy levels. Eat a protein-rich lunch with a lot of veggies and healthy sources of fat. Your lunch should be light but rich in nutrients that will sustain you for longer. Snack wisely to infuse your day with additional energy until your next meal.

Drink more water

Drink more water! Water is as essential as our sleep so you should take your water drinking habits under review. People often confuse dehydration with hunger so they try to increase their energy by eating sugary snacks. Change this habit by having a water bottle on your work-station so you’ll be able to drink the required amount of water and track your daily water intake. Also, drink a glass of warm water with a slice of lemon upon waking up to speed up your metabolism.

Exercise

Lack of movement leads to a lack of energy because you’re not using your body for what it’s designed to do. We used to hunt every meal or stay up all night to guard our village. Today, we drive to work and sit in front of screens to earn our wages. Constant tiredness can be solved by including vigorous physical exercise into your weekly schedule. Take up at least 3 to 4 workouts a week to increase alertness, reset your body, improve energy, reduce fatigue, and release endorphins.

Sort out any pain

Lack of physical exercise, lack of movement, and sedentary behavior and phone-neck are all causes of pain and inflammation in the body. Physical pain is the sign of inflammation which leads to a lack of energy at all times. Even if you sort out your sleep schedule, you’ll feel like something is draining all of your energy. You should consider going to a physiotherapist at Revive Physiotherapy to get the treatment you need. After a few sessions with a skilled physiotherapist, you will address the cause of pain and improve your energy levels.

Change your routine

Lack of energy can be the result of boredom. You repeat the same routine every day without even realizing it’s draining your energy. There’s no excitement in your day because everything’s the same. Try changing your routine by incorporating new activities into your day. Eliminate boredom from your day with new music, an interesting podcast you can listen to while you work. Use your breaks to exercise your mind by working on a puzzle or doing some crosswords.

Supplement your day

Supplements can aid your immune system, enrich your diet, and also help you gain more energy. Try taking up magnesium, vitamin D, and protein. Magnesium helps metabolize nutrients into energy and it also boosts your performance which is something we all need in our busy days.

Deal with stress

Stress can be one of the main culprits of increased fatigue and lack of energy. Taking time to unwind and relax after work is beneficial for your productivity and energy levels in the future. Work on eliminating things that stress you out from your day and from your life. Address these issues so you’ll always have the right amount of energy every day.

Once you sort out your sleep schedule, you’ll observe the change in your energy levels. When this is followed by a quality diet, proper water intake, regular exercise, pain management, reinvigorated routine, and the right supplements, you’ll ensure optimal levels of energy. Even during your busiest days, you’ll have the right amount of energy to push through.
