You Have More Impact Than You Realize

When your Goal is to make the World around you Better, you're in an uphill battle.

It's Hard.

I'm not going to sugar-coat the Truth.

Why is making the world around you better so hard?

It's Change.

We like to believe that we can Change the world overnight, but it doesn't work like that.

Change, especially lasting Change, requires large groups of people to think differently and look at the world differently.

However, our Brains make that difficult to accomplish.

In order to get our Brains to Change, it takes Time and Energy (Mg-ATP).

Many people don't spend enough Time to make real Change happen, and few people have enough Energy (Mg-ATP) today due to extreme levels of Dis-Stress.

When you are fighting to Change things, especially at Systemic levels, you are fighting against Powerful, Natural Forces.

One thing I know is that it can feel very discouraging to fight this battle, day in and day out.

If you really Dedicate yourself to Improving the world, you're going to have days where it feels exhausting.

You'll wonder if people will ever learn.

You'll see things happen and know that the outcome could have been avoided.

You will shake your head when you know things could be different.

At points, you'll ask if it is even worth it?

Will people ever hear you?

Amidst all the distractions that occur, and all the forces that feel like they are against us, will our message be worth anything?

I've been there, I know how that feels.

Like you are powerless, you don't have the strength, the skill, the power, the intelligence, or anything worthwhile to contribute.

I have been on the ground, crying, desperately searching for something, anything, that could help in what seems like a hopeless situation.

I have felt the heart-wrenching pain that comes with thinking, "I feel like I could have changed that situation, if only..."

I know that as long as you are on the Path to Improving the world, you will feel these same feelings, again, and again, and again.

It is not an Easy Path - if it were, more people would stay on it.

This is also what I know.

More people are watching than you realize.

When you put your Heart out into the world, there are people who will see it.

You may never see them, may never hear their voices, or may never know the impact your Heart had on them.

It doesn't mean they are not there.

I have heard stories where people were ready to end their lives, and the only thing that stopped it was the face of a stranger who honestly looked them in the eyes, saw them as a human being, and asked them how they were with a smile of comfort.

You may teach a lesson to someone, and they may not seem to grasp it, leaving you feeling like you'll never get through to them.

But perhaps they have grasped the seed, and it just needs time to Cultivate.

Maybe the Results won't happen overnight, but perhaps in a few years, your Lesson blossoms into something amazing.

You don't know who is paying Attention to you, and you don't know when people will find your words, Lessons, and Heart.

Some of the most important Innovations the world has ever seen have been discovered or understood posthumously.

As it has been beautifully put in the musical Hamilton,

"Legacy. What is a legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see."

Sometimes this is how it pans out.

What you need to understand though is that your Voice and your Heart NEED to be expressed.

You may not see the fruits of your labor, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't plant that garden.

The world needs Change, it needs new Perspectives, new Ideas, new Innovations, and new Lessons to be taught.

It won't happen overnight, but it does need to happen.

It needs You.

It will be hard but know that there are people rooting for you to succeed.

I am rooting for you.

Keep to the Path, be the Light, and show your Heart, and eventually, there will be others who Understand.
