Hygge. the Danish style of living, has been an inspiration for writers for thousands of years. For those of us in the northern hemisphere, winter is closing in and our hearts are turning to home, happiness, creativity and well-being. The Danes call this: "hygge". A word that is an interchangeable noun and verb meaning "cozy, safe, and comfortable", accompanied by the overwhelming mood of "wellness and contentment". A cozy fire and a nice book, a long bar filled with friends and reminiscing, a warm embrace from someone you care deeply for— that is hygge. It is simply amazing how a word can change the trajectory of how we perceive things. Hygge, pronounced as "hue-gah" or "hoo-guh," shows us that home can be anywhere and we hope that you find some hygge here each and every time you join us.
