Pilot Episode Overview:

In the pilot episode of "Eternal Nightlife," Karmilla finds herself denied access to clubs due to her youthful appearance, making her resort to hypnotizing the bouncers to let her in. She laments the decline in quality of human blood and seeks a fresh source for her meals. To her surprise, she discovers that the club she frequents is owned by her vampire brother, Hector.

As Karmilla enjoys her usual Bloody Mary, she overhears Gabriel, an intoxicated and heartbroken man, lamenting his recent breakup. Intrigued by his vulnerability and oblivious to the fact that he is a regular customer, Karmilla decides to make him her next blood bag. She approaches Gabriel, engaging him in witty banter and pretending to sympathize with his heartache.

They continue their conversation, revealing Gabriel's heartbreak and his ex-girlfriend's infidelity. Karmilla, intrigued by the complexities of human relationships, decides to take Gabriel back to her house to sober up and have a proper conversation.

The next morning, Gabriel wakes up in a luxurious and unfamiliar room, experiencing a hangover. Confused and disoriented, he finds a note from Karmilla, stating that she'll return at 8 pm and offering him the freedom to explore her house until then. Gabriel embarks on a curious exploration, encountering a lavish bathroom, fresh clothes, and a sense of impending mystery.

When Karmilla reappears, Gabriel confronts her about their unusual encounter, suspecting she may have drugged him. Karmilla dismisses his concerns and humorously explains that he was delirious, not delicious. Intrigued by Gabriel's reaction, she invites him to join her outside, leaving Gabriel both baffled and intrigued by this lucid dream-like experience.

The Script:

INT. NIGHTCLUB - BAR AREA - NIGHT

Karmilla, a 174-year-old vampire who appears as someone in their late teens to mid-twenties, sits at the bar, observing the drunken crowd. She craves untainted human blood but finds it increasingly difficult to find. She hypnotizes the club bouncers to gain access, knowing the club is owned by her vampire brother, Hector.

KARMILLA (V.O)

My name is Karmilla. Sometimes I still get denied access to certain clubs because I look like a teenager than a 174-year-old immortal blood-sucker. I had to hypnotize them to let me in. These humans, they are pathetic. They go to clubs to drink their lives into a stupor and wake up on a strangers bed the next day. One of the reasons why there are a lot of unwanted pregnancies and the STD epidemic.

Karmilla's internal monologue reveals her disdain for human behavior, noting their promiscuity and the consequences it brings. She sips on a Bloody Mary, literally made from the blood of a girl named Mary who angered Hector.

KARMILLA (V.O)

I do not give a damn how they live their lives; I am just put off that it is very rare to feast on untainted human blood nowadays. I have my own personal blood-bag, but it's only so much until I had to pick up more for variety. And the club is a perfect place. Little do these little humans know, this club is owned by my vampire brother, Hector.

Her attention is drawn to a man seated near her, visibly drunk and heartbroken. Intrigued by his vulnerability, she contemplates making him her next target despite her distaste for intoxicated blood. She approaches him, using her charm to engage him in conversation.

GABBY

Why?! Why did she leave me??

Karmilla finds the intoxicated man unappealing but realizes he could serve as an easy target for feeding.

KARMILLA (V.O)

Eugh. I do not like the blood of the intoxicated, but they're easy targets.

She walks over to the man and taps his shoulder, catching his attention.

KARMILLA

(Mischievous smirk)

Yes you, handsome.

GABBY

(pointing to himself nervously)

M-me?

KARMILLA

(amused)

Yes, you, handsome.

GABBY

If I were handsome, she would have never left me.

The bartender, NORMAN, who is also aware of Karmilla's nature, gives her a knowing look, indicating that the man is a regular customer and not suitable for feeding.

Karmilla sits next to the drunken man and dismisses the bartender. The man, Gabriel, is surprised by Karmilla's attention and questions why she would show interest in someone like him. Karmilla, amused, dismisses his self-doubt and warns him about drowning his sorrows in alcohol. She discovers that Gabriel's ex-girlfriend cheated on him, causing their breakup. Karmilla sees an opportunity to manipulate his emotions to her advantage.

KARMILLA

(to Norman)

Put it on my tab, Norman. Including this man's drinks.

The man continues to express his sorrow, calling out for his friend, the bartender, NORMAN.

GABBY

Nonong! Don't leave me! You are my only friend.

NORMAN

(serving drinks)

Sorry, sir, new customers have arrived. I'm sure the pretty woman won't mind your company.

Karmilla cringes internally at the man's nickname and redirects her attention to him, considering him as her next blood source.

KARMILLA

You are not doing yourself a favor, drowning your sorrows with tequila.

GABBY

(looking at her drunkenly)

What would you know, pretty? You look like the type to lead a guy on and then leave him preferring death over anything.

KARMILLA

(slyly)

You know not of what you speak, child.

GABBY

(confused)

Why are you calling me child? You look younger than me.

KARMILLA

(teasingly)

There are so many things you do not know about the world, little one. If you continue to drink your life away, you will not live to see your brightest day.

GABBY

(defensively)

Well, I know my name. It's G-a-b-r-i-e-l. Gabriel. Gabby.

Karmilla acknowledges the foolishness of mortals getting involved in love affairs and the man's heartbreak.

KARMILLA (V.O)

Aside from material possessions and money, the only other weakness of these mere mortals is their stupidity to dabble in love. Far too often, they get their hearts broken by being utterly stupid, in one way or another.

GABBY

(muttering between drinks)

She was the love of my life. (hiccup) And she broke up with me... We were to be married... (hiccup) I knew that her field trip to Monaco wouldn't result in something good. I was right! (hiccup)

KARMILLA

What happened?

GABBY

(takes a deep breath, as if to center himself) She got impregnated by her boss. I told her it didn't matter because I loved her, but she said that she loved the bastard and that her feelings were reciprocated. For a long time, I thought that he was gay. Whenever he sees Emmy and I together, he would look at us like checking us out. Little did I know he had his eyes on my lady.

KARMILLA

You are not meant to be, then.

GABBY

How can you say that? She'll snap out of that whirlwind romance soon, and she'll realize that I'll never leave her no matter what!

Karmilla signals Norman to give her another glass of Bloody Mary. Gabriel does the same for 20 shots of tequila, but Norman only put water in his glasses.

As Gabriel drinks more shots, Karmilla intervenes, preventing him from consuming any more.

KARMILLA

That's quite enough of that, little one.

GABBY

I need to test my alcohol torelance. It's not enough to numb the pain!

She smiles at him, and with a pinch to his neck, Gabriel quickly loses consciousness.

The scene transitions to the next day, with Gabriel waking up in an unfamiliar room.

INT. LUXURIOUS BEDROOM - DAY

Gabriel wakes up in a grand, unfamiliar room, experiencing a hangover. He discovers a note explaining his situation and instructing him to wait until the woman returns.

Gabriel explores the room, finding a well-stocked fridge and a bathroom. He decides to take a shower and prepares himself for the upcoming meeting.

INT. LUXURIOUS BATHROOM - DAY

Gabriel marvels at the opulence of the bathroom, noticing the expensive bath products available. He selects a bath bomb, shampoo, and body scrub.

After the shower, Gabriel discovers a change of clothes in the walk-in closet and follows the instructions to wear black attire. He wonders if it was meant for his funeral and shudders at the thought.

INT. LUXURIOUS BEDROOM - EVENING

Gabriel is startled to find Karmilla waiting for him in the receiving area, smirking in an amused manner.

GABBY

(stammering)

Y-you!

KARMILLA

(teasingly)

Stop gaping like a fish and come outside once you're through.

Confused and unsure if this is a dream or reality, Gabriel reluctantly follows Karmilla, ready to confront the mysterious circumstances that brought him here.

GABBY

(stammering)

W-what did you do to me? Did you drug me? What happened last night?

KARMILLA

(smirking)

Nonsense, little one. If you hadn't drunk yourself silly, I would have never taken you here. You were delirious.

GABBY

(still uncertain)

D-delicious? What are you, a vampire?

KARMILLA

(chuckling)

I said 'delirious.' Looks like you've gone deaf as well. Come along now, dear. It appears that you're done.

Gabriel, skeptical but intrigued, decides to play along, realizing that this dream-like experience is more preferable than waking up to a breakup letter.

GABBY

(muttering to himself)

Gabby!! What have you gotten yourself into?!

He follows Karmilla, prepared to uncover the secrets of his unusual situation.

FADE OUT.

I like it a bit. But i think it would be better if you let the reader figure out the humour in the story. The story and narrative should have come first before the explanation of the contrasts, satire and dark humour. But over all i could understand the humour and i do find it funny, but i think the explanation removed the surprise in finding the elements of the narrative and the interactions of the characters funny and ironic.
