Ava spent her days exploring the forest, building snow forts and having snowball fights with her friends. But her favorite thing to do was to go ice-skating on the frozen lake that lay just outside of the village.

One particularly cold winter, the lake froze over early and Ava couldn't wait to lace up her skates and glide across the ice. She set out early one morning, the sun just starting to peek over the mountains.
