love
All you need is Love, and Love is all you need.
Artistic Solace
The modern concept of, "me time" hasn't been something I've been able to fully perfect, let alone practice much of. Spending time working on hobbies, honing in on crafts, or even creating for creation's sake has always been something that I do for others. Ask me how many self-portraits I have, and I'll tell you I created one during a state of depression after feeling very alone and abandoned. Not being able to create for anyone else, I made something of my own, for my own. It never felt natural, and it didn't fulfill me.

2021: The Idiot Era.
It baffled me. When I travelled back to 2021, I realized I had forgotten how much we complained about our oppressed freedoms. We’d waltz in and out of shops, restaurants, and pubs (with seated service only) - without being monitored or followed to the degree we are now. When I travelled to what historians refer to as the ‘idiot era’ I noticed people complained about the aggravation evoked when they were instructed to conceal their faces with flimsy, cloth masks. It irritated them when they scanned track and trace by dancing their phones at café windows until QR codes invigorated a tick's appearance on their screens.

Unconditional Love
How would you describe unconditional love? Would you say that it is a love that never fades? A love that can’t be broken? Well…..according to google. “Unconditional love is known as affection without any limitations or love without conditions. “

The Delusive Pursuit
Darkness. His silent footsteps were all that could be heard in the dead of night. The wind whispered in his ears and welcomed him home. Clutching only the locket he had once gifted to his love, the broken architect was surrounded now by the remains of his city and his heart.

I Will Always Love You…
My heart was dropped in the rain and drowned in sorrow. I did not know how I would be able to get through the rest of my tomorrows. How do I get up and go about my days like there isn‘t a piece of me missing? How am I supposed to go on in the world when my heart is empty.

The Great Wall Lovers
There is a saying in China about movies. Americans go to the movies to have a good time, to imagine a better life. Chinese go to the movies to have a bad time, to remind themselves of what life is not. We can see this phenomenom far beyond the advent of cinema, to the very stories on which our civilisation is built. As such, the stories I grew up on did not teach me about hope and a better future but of the angst of love and longing, the type that can transcend time and space itself.

Why is Heartache so Painful?
In 2015, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s husband died suddenly at age 47. “The wails of crying in that hospital were unlike anything that I’d ever heard in my life,” said a friend to Time Magazine. She had to be pried loose from her husband’s dead body. She described the pain of her grief in a famous Facebook post. “The emptiness that fills your heart, your lungs, constricts your ability to even think and breathe.” For weeks, her mother held her in bed as Sheryl cried herself to sleep each night.

Blink
The hospital called to say there was an emergency. I was listed as her next of kin. I drove for two hours, to a place I had never been, with a tiny, confused baby. They called because my mother's heart stopped. She was dead for many minutes. They persevered. They started her heart. Tests follow.

All that's Left
Journal entry 06/29/2021 Love. The only thing you can bring with you. The only thing that will outlive you. I didn’t expect to end up here-does anyone end up where they expect to? This ending really got me, though. I can’t tell if it’s really the end or the start of something new. I survived an apocalypse. Me. Why? What meaning could my life possibly have now with nothing left as it once existed? Is there some other purpose for my life extension? Or, like most opportunities in my life, did death simply overlook me? I’m old enough to have lived some, but too young to conceive of the end of it all. Am I dead? Is this purgatory? Somewhere in between life and death that eludes me? I’ll tell you-it looks a whole lot different than what I knew life to be- but it strangely doesn’t feel all that different; The elusiveness of it all is familiar. What do I do now? Who am I? What business do I have still standing here? I asked these questions before…I’m just asking them now with less garments pretending to answer me.
