humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
I Have Questions
In journalism, and as far back as middle school or maybe earlier, the main questions to ask (according to experts) are What, Where, When, Who, and sometimes Y. I mean Why.

I haven't been on Vocal for about a week although I read your stories and comment on them every day. I'm working on my book, nearing the end. I'm extremely excited about this part because my protagonist finally meets her Antagonist.

Imagine the world without pain...Intentions are pure, motives are positive, self-growth is the goal. Leading to spirituality, understanding increases with which one makes sound decisions from the wide range of choices available. The healthy conscience is an important factor to the development of moral an ethical actions. Accurate and insightful comprehension of the situation, where one feels for other, selfless love, giving rise to beautiful souls.
A Thousand To One
No this is not about betting (as you may have observed I do bet on horses and football), but about prioritising the good in our lives and giving as little purchase as possible to the not so good. I am starting this unsure if I can make six hundred words on it , but I would like to give this the permanence of a Vocal story because I believe, although this is completely just my opinion, that this situation affected everybody and I am certainly no exception to this.

Somewhere on a soft bed under a full moon some odd 2000 miles away lies the woman of my dreams. Here I am, lost as ever, ranging a terrain older than time that remains mostly uncharted. Most of what I’ve learned in my 24 years is The Universe has a way of taking what we want and replacing it with what we need, even when we don’t take too kindly to its higher guidance.

The pandemic came unannounced. It rattled our lives like roaring thunder and brought almost every activity to a halt. Some were lucky to stay safe in their homes, while the hospitals were the destination of many that would never return to their homes again.
Some Notes on Love for the Recently Heartbroken
So I may have mentioned that I’ve recently had my heart broken. Shattered actually, crushed, obliterated. I had been in a romantic relationship with someone for three and a half years. He was and is a lovely person. Kind, gentle, warm, always doing everything “right” (actually this was to his detriment). We had a wonderful relationship and were best friends. We lived together and were planning a future as a duo. We also fought sometimes - I could be argumentative, he could be uncommunicative - but overall things were fab and I was smugly, blissfully in love. Until, out of the blue, he ended things abruptly and ran away. Leaving me to pick up the pieces of what had been our life.

Freedom I stood outside the building, staring up at the sky. It was a beautiful clear day with puffs of clouds floating lazily here and there. Today is the day. Today is the day I finally leave. It’s a perfect day for it and a long time coming.

The Great War, the first modern war fought in human history, ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. Ove twenty million lives were lost over the four years of dire, inhumane warfare. Every major nation in the world was affected by this war, and when peace was finally signed, the moment was so important that it became a global holiday. Europe calls it Armistice Day, Canada celebrates Remembrance Day, and the United States remembers Veterans Day. Given that the war took place over a century ago, its impact and importance gets reduced with each passing year, as accounts of those terrible years begin to pass into modern legend.

Greetings, non readership mates. I appear to be back after a week or so of enforced vacation, due to the ever popular technical difficulties and vagaries of internet service as I know it. To briefly recap, there have been lots of trivial doings, goings on and what not including a failed attempt or two at submitting pieces via phone. All in all no one has missed me nor have I missed anyone either insofar as I can tell.
