friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
Leah
Leah and I met the first week of our freshman year at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002. The commons at VCU was divided into a few areas including “The Underground” and the pool hall. I’m sure the pool hall had an upgraded name as well but for my friends and me it was just where we ended up during every break in between classes. This particular day the friends I knew from high school that also attended the university, were going into the study hall area downstairs. Having nothing else to do for over an hour, I followed the guys downstairs. But as soon as my feet reached the landing I could hear music and pool tables being played. I politely declined the hang out offer I had just received and walked right into the pool hall. And it’s the most cliché thing ever but as soon as I opened the door, there she was. Leah was a curly, brunette whose hair was just as beautiful straightened, thick, luxurious even. There were several things people always noticed about Leah immediately upon meeting.

Just Outside the Window
Greta fidgeted with her own withered hands, anxiously stroking the phantom of a now-absent ring on her left hand. She glanced about rapidly, so rapidly, that her neck was likely in danger of becoming sprained. Suddenly, she gasped and shouted in an inaudible language. She groaned and screeched, rocking back and forth in her wheelchair. There was another shout and the poor, frail woman began pointing insistently in front of her, just outside the window.

Why It Is Scientifically More Difficult To Make Friends As An Adult
For the past few years now, the United States Surgeon General has warned of another epidemic plaguing the country and much of the rest of the world: loneliness. The increased isolation from the forced physical separation of so many from loved ones has not made it easier to stay in touch.

Winter Legs
When I am walking you, I am not aware of myself. I like it that way. When we are on a walk or I am walking you or you are walking me I am aware of what is outside of myself. I first notice the chilled air, which makes my cheeks sting and nose run as you begin to run, I am closing the wooden door behind me as quickly as I can. I notice how your bladder must ache as you always have to go near the bushes on the right of the driveway first, peeing as quickly as you can. You pee a lot, you know. I watch how you stain your front right paw yellow and I wonder if the snow will wash it away even though I know it never will because it never does. I wonder if it hurts. I watch as your legs bend and reposition often, aching and shaking from years of use and medications. I feel bad for those legs.

A CONTAGIOUS CAMARADERIE
It has been nearly 2 years in my workplace and seems like I am exhausting myself with undue stress. The foolhardy work setup and illicit way of working constantly remind me to take a giant leap. Finally, on the occasion of the Advent season, my dream was fulfilled and I got a wonderful break. All of a sudden there was a burgeoning spurt of dopamine and serotonin and this life which seemed hay-wired a few weeks ago, now was falling into perfect places. With a new challenge in hand and an exhilarated approach towards life, I was dreaming about the novel opportunity to which I would be subjected.

I Lost My Friend Because of a Picture. Top Story - January 2022.
I usually write about true crime, shows on Netflix, or interesting things in my life but today I need to write about something to get it off my chest. It’s probably mostly my fault, but I believe the situation worsened because of the other party thinking I did it out of an ill will.

PSA: How to be a Good Friend and Find Good Friends
For a large portion of my life, the people who I considered my friends weren’t actually very kind to me, but I didn’t know what the rules of friendship were and whether this was normal or not so I kept them around. I was taught by my parents that making friends was easy, so I thought that horrible, manipulative people truly just had my best interest at heart. I think even the best of us struggle with this sometimes, so I put together a few tips to hopefully help you out. Feel free to share this with people if you find it useful.

As a teenager, I would don my baseball uniform in anticipation of a game and begin my journey to the ballpark. It was always the same path for the 3-mile trek because superstition set in at an early age and superstition goes hand in hand with baseball and being a left-handed pitcher.
