A Bitter-sweet Visit For Animal Lovers
Going to Zao I took a road trip with my Japanese friend during the summer to escape the Tokyo heat. We drove north to Miyagi Prefecture to visit the Zao Fox Village. Located in the forest, this secluded land preserve houses over 100 foxes as well as some other animals. The foxes walk, eat and sleep freely throughout the preserve and are so used to humans they are similar to stray cats hanging out waiting for food.

Decapitated Boy’s Head Placed at School Gate
If you have any previous knowledge of big and nation-shocking crimes in Japan, then you have probably come across the story of the boy who killed, decapitated, and then hung the head of an elementary school boy outside his school. Beyond the killing though, the culprit placed a note in the dead boy’s mouth egging on the police to find him.
