Latched On
When you discovered me wearing a blue two-piece pantsuit in Walmart at midnight that abandoned day, YOU LATCHED ON. You wanted to know if I could get your boyfriend of seven years a job with the Department of Homeland Security even though he was married for 32 years, YOU LATCHED ON. We talked for three hours outside of Walmart and finally exchanged numbers because I needed to switch hips.

50 Questions to Ask a Guy
One of my avid readers suggested to me that I do one of the 'ask your guy' challenges now that I'm seriously dating someone. And probably since I'm known for doing the 'writing challenges.' I thought it would be a fun, low-key way to play a more random get-to-know-you game since we already know each other pretty well. These made for some fun stories though and I think he had fun answering them with me. The questions are in BOLD, his answers are Italicized, and my thoughts are normal text. Enjoy!

My Epiphany
Nothing, I just came to some self realizations and some things are going to start changing and I'm going to start changing. Not who I am, but some of the things I do and I don't want you to get the wrong idea in your head when some of these changes come. They're going to be hard and I'm going to fall into some pretty dark places, and I already know that, not bad like immoral, but dark, very dark places and I know that you hate that and it bothers you but it's not giving in and I just need you to know and understand that. I'm not giving into the dark places, but willingly going because I had an epiphany today before church. I need to focus on the negative to be happy, to succeed. When I was trying to be happy your way by shutting out the negative thought process I have I ended up being lazy and overall less happy than before. I discovered that it is my dissatisfaction with every single piece of life that gives me energy. Before I was negatively channeling that energy, but I realize now that I need to channel it into a constructive and positive outlet. I need to be more negative in order to be more productive, and being more productive will make me happier because since I've tried shutting out the negativity I grew complacent and didn't feel like my life had any value. I wasn't doing anything. I need to dive into those dark places and use that overwhelming emotion to my advantage instead of letting that darkness take advantage of it. I haven't had control for the entirety of my life and it has caused me to be temporarily happy, but overall delve all of my energy into this dark thought process and produce darker thoughts. I was a slave to that machine. Now, it's time to break the freaking machine, shoot the boss in the face with my middle finger in the air, and start rebuilding and repurposing that machine to do what I want it to do.

5 Types of White Guys You Will Date as a Black Girl 2
Last year, I posted my most read article on this platform: ''5 Types of White Guys You Will Date as a Black Girl." I still don't know how so much traffic drove people to read it to be honest, but it has over 3000 reads as of now. Since then, I have lived more, talked with more people, and also sat down to think about my previous encounters a little more, and came up with five other types. The humorous tone will hopefully still be present, and keep in mind that this is all fun and games... right? Make sure to read the first one if you haven't already and with that being said, ENJOY!

Accidental Love
After over a decade of being surrounded by drastically toxic people, I had become broken and was patched up just enough to ensure my survival of neglect and abuse. No more, no less. Many of those that hurt me made the more than convincing argument continuously that I was unlovable, and that my love itself was like poison, surely to start killing the moment it was given. So when he carelessly waltzed in, radiating sunshine, laughter, and a distinct concern for me, it was mildly distressing. Would I break him? Would I drive him away? Would I lose my chance at having someone in my life who cared about me? Or was this just a game for him?

About a Relationship
Who is in a relationship? Who isn't? Who wants to get out of a relationship? Who is in an abusive one? Who wants to Well, truth be told, RELATIONSHIPS ARE HARD. There is no sugarcoating it. Anybody who has been or is in one now, knows the struggles and fears of keeping their own relationship strong. Its a challenge and some people can't keep up to that challenge. AND THAT'S OKAY.

How Love Has Become Complicated in Today's World
Dating today has become a more complex and complicated place with different views and ideologies. Not to mention different dating styles as well, since so many are trying to move further away from the traditional way of dating. More people are exploring different ways of dating, and with the change in generations, this also shifts a change in views as well. A lot of that has to do with the level of maturity in some people because there are a lot of adults who have resorted to delayed maturity. That means they haven't really grown up yet. This also explains why many are content with permanent dating and not moving towards a commitment, resulting in people spending years of their lives dating someone where it doesn't really go anywhere. Cohabitation has become the norm in today's dating world, where many want to live together before they take the next step in getting married or deciding not to get married at all. It's harder for women to recognize when a man is not ready to commit or marry them. Men face the same thing with women, but it's more women than men who don't read the signs very closely. Dating would be less complicated if people were more honest and straightforward with their intentions and not playing games—one major annoyance in dating. So many books have been written about dating and relationships, but with the world of internet technology that makes it easier to research information on dating and relationships, there are even more ways to pull up data on different things and checking out the current statistics. You see, so many things happening in dating that may sound good, but there's that old saying that what may work for some may not work for others. Everyone in the world has different tastes, styles, and views when it comes to dating. It's all about finding what works for you and how it shapes your view of dating and relationships. Love is complicated enough without the games and the drama that often comes with dating. If anything, one's dating preferences vary whether you're gay or straight. A lot of younger aged adults who aren't experienced in dating will find that it's very complicated because it takes a great deal of maturity and growing up to learn and figure out the components of dating successfully and establishing stable, long-term relationships with the opposite sex or the same sex. Many adults today have busy lives and careers and children (if they are single parents), and dating has changed with technology launching dating apps that people can easily download to their cell phones. This allows single people to meet people from the comfort and safety of their cell phones. Many dating apps are free or come with a membership fee. While there are countless dating apps with new ones popping up every day, no wonder dating has become a vast pool of meeting people with just your fingertips. Happy Hour isn't at the bars and clubs anymore, it's all on the apps people download to their phones. Chatrooms are a thing of the past now because that was one of the main ways people met when looking to date someone. The dating apps that are currently out there are being designed to be tailored to different ethnic groups and lifestyle choices. In a lot of ways, technology has made dating complicated because it makes people less accessible and, often times, unfriendly. You are communicating with someone through an email instead of actual face-to-face interaction. People have evolved in dating with a change in sexual and lifestyle preferences. 21st century dating is more advanced now with dating apps and sites using tests to find compatible and suitable matches for those who are actively looking to meet someone for dating and/or marriage. Another huge problem with dating is that there is a lack of honesty, so many people are dealing with potential matches who are not honest about themselves. You have people who are married or involved posing like they're single. You also have those who misrepresent themselves by falsifying details about themselves, such as how they look and what their intentions are. Not everyone also uses common sense when dating either because you have some who will be quick to run out and meet someone right away instead of taking the time to get to know them. In meeting someone off the internet or a dating app, you want to meet someone in a public place because you do not know who you are dealing with and what kind of person your date is. There's a lot of cases where people are meeting other people off the internet or a dating app and become victims of sexual assault or some other violent crime. It's ideal to meet someplace that is not a hotel or a private residence. It cuts down on something happening and becoming a victim. In dating, always be upfront and honest about what you are looking for so that person knows if they want to continue dating or not and not waste your time or theirs.

Ranting, Venting, Etc
I don't know where to begin. I am just feeling... off. Have you ever moved in with a significant other or loved one, and just hated it? I mean it's not like the area you live in is bad, but everything feels like it's falling apart. I don't know what I'm saying to be honest. I feel more reserved than I ordinarily do. I live in an apartment with my S/O, and some other people. They aren't supposed to be here, but we are helping them out.

Yeah, I'm Polyamorous
I don’t like labels. I feel that complex social or intimate agreements are often diminished or misunderstood by a label and that labelling something as intricate as a romantic relationship leads to making assumptions. Let us not forget that when we assume, we make an ass out of u and me. It is for this reason that I call the woman I am committed to my "partner," not "girlfriend." I have been with my current partner for two and a half years. We have always been polyamorous and, as far as I know, we intend on continuing to be. Whilst I believe I know all the reasons behind why she has chosen to be in this partnership, I can only speak for myself when expressing my thoughts and opinions on this type of relationship model. I hope in the following prose I can make the idea of an "alternative relationship" not only understandable, but something to be thoroughly considered when figuring out how we as a society engage in feelings of love, attraction, passion and sex.
