As he approached the crowded restaurant Greg felt his anxiety beginning to rise, why had he agreed to do this? He did not like meeting strangers and at least if he had used an APP he would have had an idea of what this girl was like or at least what she looked like, but no, he had let his buddy talk him into setting him up. So here he was at the determined location with no clue really who he was meeting standing there looking stupid. To make matters worse, his friend seemed to be MIA tonight and had failed to provide him with the girl’s contact information as promised. “Oh well, the worst-case scenario I eat dinner out alone and this serves as a reminder not to let people set me up!” Greg thought to himself. When he got to the front of the wait queue and no sign of his date he decided to go ahead and get a table, “I need a table for two please.” The hostess looked around confused, “Oh I am meeting someone,” Greg explained. “Of course”, the hostess replied, right this way.

I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It.
About ten years ago, I got out of an on-again-off-again relationship with a man that would not commit but kept coming back. By the time it finally ended, I was burned out, and it took me more than a year to even consider jumping into the dating pool again. When the time finally came, I had to learn how to use dating apps, and it was not exactly a great experience. Some people enjoy them, and I applaud them, but it is not for me. Nevertheless, some fantastic experiences were possible because of that technology, and one of them was going on dates with women. Most of the apps these days give the option of searching and be searched by men, women, and gender-fluid/gender-neutral people. The most common way to do it is to announce yourself as bisexual. I was not sure if that term applied to me, as I do find women attractive but had not dated any in my forty-plus years, so what gives? One day, I was watching a documentary on different lifestyles when I heard a man describe himself as homoflexible. What he meant was his go-to sexuality is with men, but he is perfectly comfortable having sex with women. I liked the term, and it clicked in my head that I am, in fact, heteroflexible. Now that I had a better understanding of my inclinations, I included women on my dating prospects.

Complicated
I don’t know what it is about me but I’m a very, and I mean VERY, complicated person. I want things and when they’re right there in my hands I literally push them away or I find a way to mess them up. I want things in life that every woman wants, but I want specific things all in one man. Before you say anything, I know, how did we get on that damn subject, but y’all knew that was what I was talking about. Relationships. I suck at them. Like passed suck, like so horribly bad at them. I can’t get right in that area. From 12 to 32, I’ll take you through my various follies. My one night stands and horrible adventures. I have tons of stories that I’m somewhat surprised I lived through. So yeah, judge me. I don’t care, but I think saying it out loud and facing it may just help me understand why I fuckin’ suck so hard at relationships. These situationships are from my memory and are of course from my point of view. Some of it is over exaggerated and super drama, but that is where the fun is! Oh and no ones real name is in here, but the locations are real. So here we go.

Why Love is so hard
