Coming Full Circle
I pulled up in the parking lot of the steakhouse, parking at the far end of the parking lot. I had arrived for my date far too early, pretty strange for me since I’m usually on time or slightly late any other time. It was 6:45, and we were to meet at 7. I knew it had to be dating jitters. Not just because it was a first date with a new guy, but my first date in over a year.

Shattered Glass, Happy Feelings
Danielle sitting on a chair inside her bedroom in front of a large mirror, she finished her makeup and looked at herself making weird movements with her face and lips stretching them around before yelling to her roommate “Kim!” not stopping her facial “exercises” until Kim walked in. “What?” she said not annoyed just bothered “How do I look? Do you think it’s too much?” Danielle asked her roommate looking into Kim’s eyes, as Kim looked over her outfit, waiting for the correct response. “No not at all you look really good,” Kim tells her “Just good?” Danielle asks a little worried “You look like a strong sexy woman but not overpowering enough to scare him away” Kim replied sarcastically but also truthfully. Danielle nods, smiles, and stands up, her makeup is done and she is wearing a tight dark, ‘dark’ mauve dress (so dark you would think it’s black without the correct lighting) she follows Kim out of her room and walks through the cleaning swamp of the apartment. A vacuum, two brooms (one big the other small), multiple cleaning spray products, a mop and bucket and two rolls of paper towels. “You get to go on a cute first date and I get to get drunk and clean the apartment. Because life is great” Kim says mockingly while tightening her bandana and sipping a glass of rye on ice. Danielle is already done putting her shoes and light jacket on by the door and laughs at Kim while looking at herself in the foyer mirror (which hasn’t been cleaned yet) “Ok. You promise I look good?” “Yes, and it’s a tinder date it doesn’t matter how you look as long as you show up” Kim laughed while grabbing the big broom and also her glass again. Danielle smirks and says “Maybe he’s the one” she grabs her keys and opens the door and says goodbye and starts leaving for the bar.

Spicy Reunion
Finally, the day was here! Lisa was excited and couldn't contain her excitement. Today was going to be the day Lisa was going to meet up with James, an old high school friend, with the home she had reconnected with online. Lisa and James had shared a few classes throughout the high school years. Although their relationship was not romantic, they had a fun connection. They always worked on group projects together and sat close to each other in every class they could. After 10 years they reconnected on social media. They discovered both had recently moved back to their home town. They spent several weeks communicating by phone and online, it seemed they were really hitting it off. Now that they both lived in the same city, so they decided it was time to meet again after so many years, and spending several weeks communicating by phone and online. Lisa and James were fond of each other and agreed they wanted this to be the perfect date. It had been a long time since either of them had been on a date. They knew this connection was special. This first date had to be special too!

The Fundraiser
Jacquelyn looked at herself skeptically in the mirror and cocked her head up just slightly. “You still clean up beautifully,” she thought to herself, tucking a tumbling strand of blonde hair behind her ear and then promptly changing her mind and pulling it loose to hang down next to her face. She had used makeup to hide the creases she could; she felt as good as ever when she put the effort in.

Attraction at first sight
The sound of the birds chirping, soaking in vitamin D while drinking hot soothing ginger tea with an amazing view of a gorgeous man dripping sweat during his workout couldn’t be a better way to start Anaila’s morning. “Does he ever look bad?. Is this what my six months living here will look like?” Anaila asked herself while gazing at him. Lo and behold, Henry starts jogging towards her and she acts like she doesn’t see him. “Are you just gonna stare or join me”? Henry asked with a smirk on his face. “Hmh what? I don’t know what you are talking about”, Anaila said, sipping her tea. Henry chuckled and said, “you can’t feed me that good and not expect me to break a sweat every morning, so let’s make a deal, cooking classes for morning workouts”. Anaila nodded in agreement because all that ran through her mind was how good-looking he was even when drenched in sweat, just sexy.

Perfect Night
It had been a long time since I’ve done this, and now I remember why I stopped. The embarrassing looks and barely veiled whispers of pity...yeah this is why the dating game is the absolute worst! After drinking just water for the past two and half hours, it was past time to call it quits and just go home to the half gallon of sweet, sweet ice cream. I swear I can hear it calling my name from my freezer 4.5 blocks away. I know what you’re thinking, but I think I deserve a little comfort tonight. Heck yeah I do! Okaaay....now that I’ve vented a wee bit....”breathe in, breathe out” I can gather what’s left of my dignity and go. I should leave a tip, yeah, I didn’t actually order anything, but hey, they did make several trips to refill my water glass way more than is probably socially acceptable. And, they deserve a better reward than added steps on their Fitbit. Setting the tip down, holding my head high, turning, I proceed to bump into a solid body....and promptly fall on my ass....or would’ve, if said solid body hadn’t swiftly caught me in what I hoped appeared to be an epic movie worthy moment.

First date
“Great! I have a match!” Jenny thought gleefully while checking her dating application. It was part of her morning ritual: she wakes up, does her yoga, drinks a cup of green tea and checks her phone to see what’s new. Today started like any other, however, she felt that something was off but she couldn’t pinpoint what that was. Probably just a feeling. For a police detective such as herself, this gut feeling meant more as it saved her multiple times over the years
