Casual relationships work for some people. In a casual relationship, you can still date a person while having the freedom to pursue other options.

But when you finally decide that you want to commit, it can be difficult to find a way to bring it up in a conversation. You might risk breaking that bubble of bliss you both are enjoying.

Before you get around talking about being exclusive with each other, it’s best to assess if you’re on the right track. Although your casual relationship is slowly turning into a serious one, your partner may not be ready to have the talk just yet.

1. You Start Referring to their Home as Yours

After an eventful night out with your friends, you are ready to retire for the day and catch up on some sleep. Instead of going back to your apartment, you head over to the house of the girl you’re seeing.

You feel right at home at her place. There are traces of you everywhere — your toothbrush, your t-shirts, and even your favorite mug. No one leaves their things unless they plan on going back — so you know you’re about to get serious.

2. Meeting Their Family

No one introduces their family with someone they haven’t fully committed to. Meeting the family is a huge deal for some people, so they only save it for someone they are seriously dating. This only means they have accepted that you may soon be a huge part of their life.

3. Buying Groceries Together

You don’t only spend time with each other for fun dates, but for mundane activities as well — just like groceries.

You both have accepted that your dates don't always have to be grand and can be as simple as doing errands together. It's even more domestic if you buy things for their place because you go there so often.

4. You Don’t Stress Over your Looks Anymore

Putting in the effort to look good is an essential part of dating. But once you get comfortable around the person you’re seeing, you start to become more comfortable with dressing down. Appearances aren’t the only thing attracting you to each other anymore — your like towards them goes deeper than that.

5. Making Decisions With Them In Mind

Whenever they have plans, they always think of you. They make sure that you fit somewhere in their plans, even if they have to put you above everyone else. You do the same as well.

You fall into a routine of asking about each other’s plans like clockwork. If you’re not serious about them, you wouldn't prioritize them as much.

6. You Both Aren't Interested in Other People

When you are casually dating, you don’t expect the other to fully commit. But if they start deleting their dating apps and make more time for you, it’s a sign that they may be reconsidering it.
