Past Lives Can Still Influence Us Today

The past isn’t always over

Have you ever felt an immediate connection to someone you only just met? Or a strong draw to visit a certain city or country? Have you ever felt connected to an era from long ago? All of these are signs that you are sensing a life that you lived before and some of the time may have unfinished business to complete.

Past lifetimes involved people, places and time periods. Each one can have a draw. You may not be as connected to the people you lived with in a past life in medieval France but you are to the country or time period. Or, it may not be about the time and place at all, but someone you meet gives you the sense you have known them before.

Feeling a strong connection to a person

Even though you have only just met someone, there can be a sense of such strong familiarity that you keep questioning if you have actually met them before. This comes from the ability two souls have to pick up right where they left off.

It can happen with friends, even acquaintances, work associates or romantic partners. Considering there is probably a soul contract at play, the draw to this person can feel very hard to ignore. Don’t ignore it, it’s coming from your soul you are meant to reconnect with this person once more and carry out some sort of work together.

When the connection is to a place

Many people might feel drawn to visit a city or country that they cannot explain. This is due to your soul remembering that location, and often a visit is a good idea. Not only can it help you remember more, but if there was unfinished business there it can help you get a sense of peace.

It can be as simple as walking the streets of a city or town you once lived in. While you may not remember the details you will have a sense of familiarity just being in the place.

The soul will feel often feel a sense of completion. However, you may be so drawn there you want to visit more or even move there.

Feeling connected to an era in time

While we cannot visit a place in time physically, we can learn about it, read books, watch videos or movies from that era if available and get a sense of how it was. To satisfy the connection, try engaging with things like music, food, or even clothes from that era to help you feel better connected.

Exploring the era you are drawn to can help you get a sense of who you were, and what mattered to you back then. It may be that whatever you focused on in that life is now something you can focus on as well. Sometimes the draw is about remembering the lessons, talents, and impressions we had in another life. This can unlock positives from that time.

When the connection feels negative

While most of the past life connections with people, places and times past will be ones that intrigue us, some of them may feel the opposite. If you feel a sense of trepidation over someone, or a place or time period, you don’t have to explore it or pursue it.

From the soul’s perspective, there is no time, and it has a sense that all of our lives are happening at once. Remind yourself that you are in the present, in the city, or era you live in currently. This can release you from the memory and allow you to heal whatever happened prior to this incarnation. If it is a person, make a prayer to cut all cords, and release any contracts you have with them. You don’t have to follow anything that doesn’t feel right, ever.

Past lives shape so much of our present. They make us who we are now, we have worked in many professions, been a member of numerous cultures, and a part of various religions. The soul is much like a tapestry of experiences woven together.

You find yourself, now, in only one part of that tapestry. It is to be expected then, that you will at times sense the paths you have once walked, get a glimpse around the corner of who you were once were, in a lifetime not really so long ago.
