On the Roof(The Owl House fanfic(Raeda))

At one point Luz said, "Eda is probably on her third cup of apple blood by now and last time it was hard getting her off the roof." This is what happens when Eda is alone on the roof and gets drunk on apple bood, while longing for Raine.

Teen Raine's head looking fowered lovingly surrounded by happy bubbles that fade into a back background. The title is above their head.

Eda sat alone on the roof, a large cup of apple blood in her hand, and a very strong bottle of it beside her. King was asleep and she convinced Owlbert to babysit Hooty, so she was truly alone with her thoughts. They all navigated to one witch. Her Rainstorm. Tears filled her eyes as she wondered what would have happened if she opened up to them, what if they never broke up? Half of the cup was gone. The taste reminded her of them, they had only shared the non-alcoholic version, but she could still taste the juice box they always traded her when they were at Hexside. The cup was almost empty, as tears fell down her face as she remembered the breakup.

She refilled her cup and took a swig. She summoned the likeness of her ex. She hadn’t seen them since they were a teen, so Eda changed them a little to make them look the right age.

“Oh, Raine,” she whispered to the illusion sitting next to her as she looked into their green eyes. Their glasses didn’t hide the look of love that she remembered from all those years ago. She drank some more. If she hadn’t made this spell so often it would have dissolved by now, but now it just smiled at her as she drank some more. Tears now fell freely. She wiped them away, imagining that it was Raine’s hands and not her own. She remembered the feel of their fingers, tips of their left hand calloused from pressing down the strings of their violin. She’d do anything to feel them once more. The cup was now almost empty again.

“Oh, Raine, I still love you, you still love me, right?” her voice was laced with desperate hope, despite knowing that the illusion couldn't talk. It just kept smiling and looking at her with that lovesick expression she gave them. Then her question was answered.

“Well, I love you, Eda! hoot hoot!” the witch practically jumped out of her skin at Hooty’s declaration. She turned to give the demon a death glare. Owlbert came flying behind the faster being, apologizing to Eda for not being able to keep Hooty away.

“You have until the count of three to leave me alone!” she snapped at the intruders, words slurring slightly, but her eyes were serious behind the tears. She brought her hand up ready to make a spell circle.

“Alright, Alright, I just wanted to make sure you knew that you were loved, sheesh,” he left, her palisman following.

She reached for her cup but couldn’t find it. She must have dropped it when Hooty shocked her. She took a gulp right out of the bottle, it’s not like she’s sharing it with anyone.

She turned her attention to her Raine and went to grab their hand, it was always warm, her intoxication and distraction made her forget just how fragile that image was. It dissipated on contact. She tried to create a new one but kept failing. So, she just cried at the loss of her love, as she drank more and more apple blood. She kept trying to cast the illusion spell thinking that it would randomly decide to work. It failed every time. She just wanted to be with them again.
