An address to the World

Now more than ever we need each other

Our hearts pour out for Ukraine's people for no one likes or should be the victim of a bully. Unfortunately, though this is the state of the world we now live in. History is doomed to repeat itself over and over again until we realize that greed and anger are not the way. We need to rise up from the fear-based narrative and find a better way to live. A place that all people can live in peace and happiness, free from fear and hatred. Russia is the result of the world at hand, for who polices the police? Without getting into politics, I believe we are from what the founding fathers wanted this nation to be. If we don't change our course, then we will rewrite history over again the same as it's been before. What kind of future would that be for the youth of today? The world needs to slow down and smell the roses. This starts with each one of us, working on being better than we were yesterday. The old saying goes “it takes a village to raise a child” and this is what we must come together and do. The children are our future and if we steady the course where heading what kind of world will it be?

The same problems that plague each and every one on of us are the same things going on around the world. Some are just on a much larger scale. We have stopped teaching values and have allowed technology to raise our children. Some call this evolution but look at what it's producing. Our children are riddled with depression and anxiety and can hardly hold a conversation. This is why the change has to start with each of us. Make the choice every day to do the right thing, because doing so is always the right answer. At some level we need to slow down and get back to the basics of life. A world where we aren't slaving away at job to barely make ends meet. Putting in hour after hour of work to maybe get to see your loved ones for a few hours each night. Because of this, when time does allow for more interaction you hardly even know the people around you. We have lost the gift of gab, don't believe me? Sit down with your family for dinner and have a full conversation, will it be more than how was your day or what's new? Engaging the minds of the youth and teaching them there is a better way is what must do. It starts here and now; it starts with me and you.

If you work a forty-hour week and sleep eight hours a night and let's say you have a thirty minute commute to and from work. This only leaves you seven hours left in the day. Some of this is going to be cooking and cleaning both yourself and your house. Plus we add in exercise or whatever gets us through the week. We really have no time at all, and what kind of life is that? Do we really want to continue living for the weekend? Saturday ends up being a catch up day on all the things you put off all week is it not? We live in a society that has become too greedy and the value of life has been lost. The value of your time is gone forever. We continue to live in the past because our memories are from a time when we were free. Before all of the commitments and responsibilities burdened our life. If we continue this way, what will we become? What will the world become? I'm not telling anyone how to live, for who am I to judge. I'm just asking to you to take a step back and analyze your own life because changes starts within us all.

So I ask and urge you to consider these words each day and make the choice to be the change the world needs. Lets bring back manners and common courtesies, pay a smile forward. Start operating from the heart with compassion for our fellow inhabitants of earth. We are all here trying to survive and no matter what phase of your life your in there is always room for compassion. Please keep in mind you could be exactly where someone else is if you made different choices or weren't awarded the same opportunities. We need to look past our differences and learn to promote them. If we were all the same, the world would be boring, it is through our differences and experiences we learn. Learn to see yourself in others, recognize your own faults in the people around you. If needed, heal yourself and then teach them through your actions on how to heal as well. We are all products of our environment. It started when you were a child, picking up on everything around you whether you knew it or not. Again I ask you to join me in being the change the world needs. All it takes to do so is making the choice to be the best you, YOU can be. This will look different for everyone, so please be yourself and pay some happiness and compassion forward. The state of the world depends on it.
