Christmas Is A Family Affair
Shepherd’s pie and yams were her little Lawrence’s favourite. She bustled around the kitchen, checking on the casserole in the oven and the yams on the stove. He would be here soon, along with the rest of the family, to celebrate Christmas as a family. She glanced at the clock: 5:46 p.m. They usually gathered for dinner at 6:30 sharp, so there was still time. Her daughter Summer was always getting into trouble, so who knew what she was even doing at this minute, and her son Lawrence was probably helping his young son with homework, or something else. She paused, spatula in hand. What was her grandson’s name again?

Despite My Best Efforts I still Hate the Walking Dead
I hate the Walking Dead. So if you love it and your curious why, read on. If you want to know why so you can convince me otherwise, find a new motivation. I just want something different from television. The most frustrating thing about The Walking Dead (T.W.D.) for me is the lack of a full story arch, followed by Rick just generally, closing that there is no sound decision maker.

Who Left These Bloody Footprints?
The night was cold, like any other late-summer night in Michigan. I ended it just like previous nights, as I had developed a routine. Every night, I would drink tea and read in bed until my tea was finished. Then, I would lay down and allow myself to be taken away. Throughout the night, I tossed and turned, unable to find a good position to sleep in. I awakened a few times in between those turns and could feel something wasn't right. My foot confirmed that feeling as it tingled most throughout my slumber, feeling as if a million little critters swarmed the bones of my right foot.

Behind St. Loraine’s walls
I walked through the dark hallway, flashlight out in front of me. As I neared the room where the whisper came from I froze. Did something take hold of me? What possessed me to freeze? It was the whisper again. This time it had come from right behind me. I darted through the hallway, not once daring to look back for fear of what I would see. I ran until I lost my breath and that is when it hit me. Where was the broken window I had come through? Had I just run in a circle? My question was answered out loud by another raspy whisper. “Yes Casey,” the voice said as if it could read my mind. There was an unforgiving wind that seemingly came out of nowhere. I shined my flashlight and felt for the pocket knife that my dad had given me for protection when I was ten. The room was empty other than me but I had heard the noise I was sure of it. Then I shined the light on the mirror in front of me and I saw him. Well, it. What I saw hunched over behind me could not be classified as human and I refused to hear an argument. It was a pale color. Blood dripping from its mouth and its veins pulsating. It was smiling a terrible smile. Showing every last one of those razors I presumed to be its teeth. The eyes looked to be sewn shut but the eyelids appeared to be transparent. Just as whatever the heck I was staring at reached out to touch me I came to my senses and darted around the nearest corner and saw the window. Had I past it the first time? It didn’t matter. I jumped out of the window without hesitation. I got a good distance before deciding it would be safe to take a glance back. It wasn’t following me. It hadn’t even made an effort to come out of the building. It just stood in the second story window, menacingly waving at me. I turned and ran through the forest. It began to rain but I didn’t stop. Once home I ran up the stairs and locked my door. Next time, I told myself, I would listen to the rumors and stay away from haunted hospitals.

A Filmmaker's Review: Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965)
I was actually watching this film when I was supposed to be working and thus, I got nothing done. The film was, at first primitive and slightly odd so I thought about turning it off, but then I saw tarot cards and then I was absolutely sold. The film is about a man who can tell the fortunes of each and every man in his carriage with the only way out for each of them being death. There is a twist that I don’t want to tell you because it gives the game away but Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee are both in it, so you know it’s good.

Creatures, Cryptids, and Legends of the States
Frozen Bigfoot A rare bigfoot discovery happened in Atlanta, Georgia, on 19 August 2008. This discovery was one that made many prick their ears up to. Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, self-proclaimed Bigfoot trackers, claimed they discovered the corpse of a real half-human half-ape creature. Many were ready to write it off as another phony sighting or a hoax until the two publicly said they had it stored in a freezer, released detailed and up-close pictures of it, and even agreed to let anyone perform a test on the corpse that wanted to. This made many believe in the possibility a real sasquatch was found.

The Master of Horror’s House
It was a gloomy day - the cold, quiet, solemn kind - when my family and I made the long journey to Bangor, Maine. We had spent over 7 hours escaping a tropical storm. Back home in New Jersey, the power was cut, houses were flooded, and the fence in our backyard had been damaged from a fallen tree. But in the northeastern part of the United States, all you could feel was leftover tension.

Vera the Ventriloquist
For those of you who are new to how my brain ticks… For every makeup art or costume I design, I usually have to create an entire unique backstory in lieu of it all. I feel it brings more personality and depth into the visual aspects of the makeup art itself and puts the cherry on top for my characters final touch. In fact, I usually write out my short stories before hand so that I can fully act out and personify my characters to the fullest once I am done creating the makeup look itself.
