Just Some Thoughts
I spent the week ruminating on dehumanizing nature of capitalism. Determining a persons deserving-ness of food, shelter, healthcare, leisure, based on arbitrary valuation of labor, requires that we dont see the inherent values in human beings. The discourse surrounding Fifty Cent, Kanye West, Anna Delvey, TikTok creators, my personal life, pulls back the curtain to the lines drawn around what is human and what is a catalyst for gaining or losing capital. We live in a world of passive consumption, the basic mechanisms of our systems are coveted as complex high thinking college degrees, leaving the general public at the mercy of marketing. This leaves the door open to see a human person as a product and not a human piece of the puzzle. There is a difference between I am exchanging money to get an egg, pr my money gives me dominion over you. All of these things have been explicitly constructed into our capitalist system, and if we dont look at them and admit they are there. We will never be rid of them.

Cruel Summer
I watched Cruel Summer and I found the first episode to be promising but flawed. I did finish the series but… her are my abundant complaints. Let me start with some biographical information to set the stage. I was 10 years old in 1994, I had two teenage sisters, an abundance of friends with older siblings, and cousins. Teenagers in small town America, in 1994 informed a great deal more of my identity than I would like to admit. I am going to graciously say that the creators of Cruel Summer really tried to create a satisfying period piece, but they missed some important marks. The clothing, fashion, slang, and music just brush up against greatness.

Review; Holy Hell
Unfiltered reaction I listened to an episode of one of my favorite podcasts, Sinisterhood, about the the Bhuddafield Cult. Their reference material was a documentary titled Holy Hell. I had never heard of the Bhuddafield, and I am very intrigued by cults so I thought I would give it a try. The documentary starts off disorienting and confusing with a seagull, and weird people seemingly meditating. The images introduction of Will Allen, is gentle and you might get the impression that you are about to watch the story of a Catholic coming to terms with his sexuality through getting his film degree. I am a little confused because I mostly understand thats not what this is about, its an interesting choice of opening.

Wynona Earp
When it comes to television, I am a person to who can weigh in. I am a stay-at-home mom who barely sleeps. I go from one show to the next in rapid succession. Many an evening is spent clacking away writing stories, cleaning the kitchen, or being semi comatose on the couch. This brings me to my latest binge. Wynona Earp. I would say if you like the supernatural, a lot of darkness carved out with humor, add Wynona Earp to your list of must watch shows.

The Tethered Souls Of The False God
The house was stiflingly hot. A hot that prompts deep breaths to know there is air in the room, a hot that you think moving might relieve, only to encounter a resounding stiffness of the hot air. Mary-Beth lay on her twin mattress in the bare room, staring at the ceiling. A reality she was so adapted to there was little left to feel about it. She lifted her nude body from the sheet slowly and let her feet touch the wood floor of the old farmhouse. The floorboards were warm already. This is how she began her ritual. She spoke aloud as if Dale Fogs her bonded soul was still in this realm. “Good morning” came out of her mouth like a fastball, her voice echoing against the wood and plaster with no soft surface to catch it but the mattress. “Today I hope the sign is in the sky.” There was no one physically present to respond to the request. She looked out the window and saw the clear blue Colorado sky and the plains sprawling with grasses and tumbleweeds and dust. Despite her plea to the universe, she did not look to the sky. She would have to look out 3 times before she could expect a sign from him, and even then, it was possible she would see nothing today. In fact, the signs had all but ceased.

Dear Martha
Dear Martha My commitment is still touch and go mostly due to the occasional pandemic ennui. My kids and I do schoolwork, I do the dishes, I craft, I do little bits from your book, and fight the urge to binge watch procedural crime dramas. This week I continued to work on my entryway and my closet. I also baked that cake you suggested.

The Coulter Troll
In 2016 my friend wanted me to start a podcast with her. She picked the first book, In Trump We Trust by Ann Coulter. I thoroughly read the book, I checked sources, I considered talking points, I took tedious angry little notes all over that stupid, stupid book. I 100% read that book so you do n ot have to.

Sleepless Ramblings
It's a cold Tuesday night and I can't sleep. Partially because the T.V. and light are on, but largely those facts just mask the racing in my head. Not manic racing more like stressed out cataloguing racing. I watched TV all day and responded to emails. I have money woes because I am American and not the Jeff Bezos variety. Naturally I worry about my kids and the state of the universe, and my husband snoring.

Dear Martha
Dear Martha, I missed weeks 3 and 4 of January because they got a little...I will explain more later. The things that really stood out that I was supposed to be doing were, purchasing theatre tickets, planning my upcoming social engagements, planning a superbowl party, making reservations for Valentines day and getting a sitter. Obviously we are talking 14 days there were other suggestions but, I am sure anyone living in the now understands how these suggestions might be motivation killer.

Dear Martha,
Dear Martha, I am well underway in my second week working through Martha Stewart’s Organizing, and I have some feelings. There were a number of tasks this week that involved spending money. I just couldn't swing that at this juncture. I did take to heart many of your other suggestions and I begrudgingly report that my life feels somewhat enriched. Outside of your out of touch suggestions that only wealthy people need to enjoy their piles of money, your organization tips are proving to be very beneficial.

Dear Martha, Week 1
Dear Martha Stewart I purchased your book Martha Stewart’s Organizing The Manual For Bringing Order to Your Life, Home and Routines last year and I have dutifully waited to be able to use it starting from the beginning, because that is just who I am as a person. I am currently working through the first week, and the entry way sections of the book and I have some things to report.

Despite My Best Efforts I still Hate the Walking Dead
I hate the Walking Dead. So if you love it and your curious why, read on. If you want to know why so you can convince me otherwise, find a new motivation. I just want something different from television. The most frustrating thing about The Walking Dead (T.W.D.) for me is the lack of a full story arch, followed by Rick just generally, closing that there is no sound decision maker.
