Gracefall
As usual, Sister Maria Grazia sensed the evil long before she could see it. As the black sedan car rolled through the Tuscan hills, she could feel the pressure weighing down on her head. She closed her eyes, pinched the bridge of her nose, and counted three slow breaths. Ordinarily she would have prayed, but she needed to save her prayers for when she got there.

A Vacation Rental...With an Uninvited Guest
It was supposed to be a nice week away for three women and a dog in a beautiful vacation rental in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was early June and I was looking forward to a week filled with incredible mountain views, stunning photos and relaxing girl time on a deck with a view and a hot tub. But rarely do things go as planned.

The Haunting of Shady Acres
When I was a child, I grew up in the countryside. I lived in a rustic bungalow on a 5-acre parcel of land. It was a quaint abode located fifteen kilometres from a hamlet of 300 people and sixty kilometres from the nearest full service town. All views of the house I lived in were concealed by a canopy of mature spruce trees. The trees were so dense they had to be trimmed back every year to prevent blockage of the driveway entrance. This property was accessible only by a single gravel road leading down a dead end street. Unfortunately, the gravel road was not well maintained and cellular phone reception was poor. It was common for foreigners to become lost in this area. My parents spent many evenings guiding travellers to the nearest gas station. This is how Shady Acres got its name.

The Story of The Box
It was many years ago now when I was just a little girl. That’s when I saw this for the first time, stuffed secretly in my Grandmothers loft. We were playing, my brother and I, when we crept up there. It was dark and musty, and I remember there being a cold breeze drifting across from a tiny hole the bats had made in the roof to roost beneath the beams. We could see the light streaming in from outside through this tiny gap, illuminating a small wooden box.

Angel Baby
There are so many things that happen in our lives for which we simply cannot explain. For this challenge I have submitted a photograph taken over 20 years ago which captured a true surreal experience. Instead of portraying something spooky, which could potentially haunt one for a time to come; this picture embodies an angelic encounter. I have often drawn upon the positive energy emanated from this event over the years whenever I have felt down and needed a sign of hope.

To Kill A Ghost
Witnesses described it as an icy cold night, moonless and pitch dark with the air so thick and suspended it was one of those nights where anything could happen to anyone at any moment. Anxiety was circulating as the whispers grew to worry and the worry grew to near panic primed perfectly for a violent climax. A malevolent and rather physically engaging specter had begun to appear around the small neighborhood of Hammersmith, London. The men, good men, good honest hardworking men became frustrated with their inability to protect their wives and daughters. Wives and daughters tittered nervously, apprehensive to move about freely as they were previously accustomed to. It had been a harrowing two months for the residents of Hammersmith, a harrowing two months that would end in murder on that icy, moonless night in January, a murder punctuated with the haunt of a question mark for centuries.

Twin Flame
Twin flames are said to be two souls that mirror one another. Two divine souls that when they come together, magic happens beyond the soul’s belief. Twin flames have known each other for lifetimes and some can be stuck in repeat lifecycles that could be dangerous for the two and others around them if they were to join. I had no idea how dangerous this union could be when I set the intention to find my twin flame. I had been single for about a year after a rough break up with my son’s father. I had been doing research on this twin flame energy and was intrigued by the fact that someone was out there, just for me… so I thought.

Haunted eBay Dolls
eBay – books, perfume, dolls from hell? So many instances and stories of haunted items being sold on the auction site, but the veracity of most is impossible to prove. One popular item that seems to consistently both titillate and horrify people are haunted dolls.

The Kid In The Werewolf Mask
The kid walked through the doors of the store, and walked with a purpose. She strode in that way children have when they know where they’re going. Arms stiff at her sides, moving at a good clip, head not turning to see the displays as she passed. All business. She arrowed right at the first bank of logo-festooned endcaps and then left again at aisle fifteen.

The Visitor
My boyfriend has always said his house is haunted. I have always laughed at that. He’s told me stories about hearing strange running sounds on the stairs when no one else was in the house, sometimes even a loud THUD on the landing, like someone had jumped down onto it. He talks about hearing knocking from the downstairs bathroom, or from the kitchen where the refrigerator sits. Sometimes a closet door swings open on its own, or a chair creaks beside him when he watches a movie.
