The Woman
Students are shifting and yawning in their seats, listening to the history professor lecture about gothic architecture and flying buttresses. There is an impatient air around the room as the students are eager to finish their last class of the week. Thais, nineteen, a quiet, small girl with unruly brunette hair, is slumped in her chair in the back of the room; sleepy eyed and leaning her head against the wall. The lecture seems to go on and on. The round clock above the whiteboard is stuck in one spot—twenty five minutes left. The advantage of sitting all the way in the back row is that you are mostly obscured by the bodies in front of you, making it pretty easy to doze off and not be seen. All that was visible to Thais from back there were flashes of the red sweater the professor wore as she paced back and forth, talking with her hands, so Thais was sure she was pretty much invisible. As an extra measure to not be seen, Thais stood her thick textbook up on the table in front of her and slumped further in her seat. Resting her head on the table, her eyes get heavy. Her vision becomes blurry and dim as the professors voice gets more and more faint and trails off...

The Visitor
My boyfriend has always said his house is haunted. I have always laughed at that. He’s told me stories about hearing strange running sounds on the stairs when no one else was in the house, sometimes even a loud THUD on the landing, like someone had jumped down onto it. He talks about hearing knocking from the downstairs bathroom, or from the kitchen where the refrigerator sits. Sometimes a closet door swings open on its own, or a chair creaks beside him when he watches a movie.

January 11th
I was on a trip with Audra, I don’t know what city we were in. We were walking on a sidewalk with a crowd of people when we noticed that there was a giant cow just laying in front of us, and a man sitting in his pick-up truck, talking to it. We found out it was his cow; they were just chillin’ in the sun. I think we were at a park because there was a large grassy area, and a single tree that Audra went and sat under. There was another cow laying by her.

The Bellwether CurtainsSecond Place in Mobile Moments Challenge
I shot this strange photo on my iPhone 6plus while on a weekend getaway in Bellingham, WA in January. My partner and I had booked a room at the Hotel Bellwether, looking to de-stress for a few days, and to explore a new city. We got the key to our room, and when I walked in, the first thing that immediately caught my eye were the floral curtains across the room. That's a lie. The first thing that caught my eye was the complimentary chocolate on the bed, and then the curtains. They caught my eye because of the pattern on them; the kind of pattern that you aren't sure if you hate because it looks like your grandmother puked all over it, or if you love it because it's so ugly. I decided that yes, the curtains were ugly, and I loved them. The peachy/pink tones in the fabric matched the retro orange color of the armchair in the corner of the room. Seeing the two pieces together got my creative wheels turning, and I wished I had brought my digital camera to take pictures with.
