Jigsaw
Some people make mistakes. Some cost lives. How would you punish them? Are you willing to speak for the dead? Every day, we or those we love are victims of a crime and we call for "revenge"-- against the criminal, against the police who never solve the crime, against politicians that promise to help but never do. But few of them understand the cold, destructive, and ultimately hollow thrill of revenge as well as Jigsaw.
Paul DeosaranPublished 3 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Nobody"
Nobody came out early in 2021. There was a little bit of buzz about this movie because it was said to be similar to the John Wick series. I particularly like the John Wick series but I don't know why I didn't check it out when it first came out. Now later on in the year I realize what everyone was talking about.
Brian AnonymousPublished 3 years ago in GeeksReview of 'Aetherbound'
Aetherbound follows Pendt in this slow-burn space opera that gives ownership of one’s body back to women and holds up the ideals that a family is not born of blood but born of love.
Cyn's WorkshopPublished 3 years ago in GeeksReview: Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This is a review of Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Please note, there are spoilers below! First thoughts This is absolutely a stunning book. This was the second book I've read by TJR (the first was "Daisy Jones and the Six") and I've loved them both!
Jaci SchreckengostPublished 3 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Free Guy"
Free Guy is a movie that I was waiting to see back in 2020 but I guess the pandemic had other plans. Now that we're finally sort of opening up the theatres are as well. I finally got the chance to see this highly anticipated movie. It was kind of worth the wait.

And WoW! There are three episodes out in Season Three of Titans. But good heavens what a start to the season! I’m going to do my best not to give you any spoilers here, but if you haven’t watched it yet, go watch it!
DuointherainPublished 3 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "The Bad Batch: Season 1"
The Bad Batch: Season 1 has just wrapped up its first season exclusively on Disney Plus. It's the first time I've ventured into the animated world of Star Wars TV shows. That is if you don't count the 80's Ewok series. I was too young to even understand the Ewok series anyways. It was just a bunch of teddy bears running around. This series made me curious about other Star Wars animated TV shows now.
Brian AnonymousPublished 3 years ago in GeeksSherlock Holmes: The Ordeals of Sherlock Holmes Review
After the success of the Jonathan Barnes-penned "The Adventure of the Perfidious Mariner" in 2012, Big Finish gave Barnes the keys to the kingdom of Sherlock Holmes. The first of Barnes' contributions since was "The Ordeals of Sherlock Holmes", a four-hour box-set with stories set throughout the Holmes cannon. And, I'll put my cards on the table right now - these might be my favourite Sherlock Holmes stories in any medium, be it film, TV, prose or audio. They have the true heart and soul of the original Conan Doyle stories, but feel fresh and new and exciting, and together they make for something very, very special.
Joseph A. MorrisonPublished 3 years ago in GeeksThe Suicide Squad (2021) Review by someone who hates comic book movies
It's no secret to anyone that I harbour a hatred towards comic book films. The MCU is my version of Hell and the DCEU is just Marvel after dark. However, if you had a gun to my head and asked me to decide which one I preferred, I would have to say DC as it at least tries to break the mould of saccharine superhero simplicity, but that doesn't really mean much as my expectations for both companies are non-existent when it comes to judging the quality of their films (Although, I will say that Into the Spider-Verse was my favourite film of 2018). That said, while I find watching superhero films an exercise in torture, I fully understand why people enjoy them; they're pure escapist nonsense and that's fine. I'm just not one of those people but I wish I was.

Hi, and welcome back to Second Chances where the maligned, forgotten, and ignored are always online and never need a code key.
Adam WallacePublished 3 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Phil Wang: Philly Philly Wang Wang"
Phil Wang: Philly Philly Wang Wang is a new stand-up comedy special released exclusively on Netflix in 2021. I haven't ever heard of this guy before but the title of his comedy special got my attention real fast. It's a pretty clever way of gaining an audience's attention while still holding true to Phil Wang's brand of humor.
Brian AnonymousPublished 3 years ago in GeeksReviewing Season Two of Umbrella Academy
Season Two being set in the past and the civil rights/JFK era of history is a huge thing right now. Allison being able to make her way into the middle of the civil rights fight is a beautiful way to explain and show the importance of women of color in that time period. I was bugged by Allison’s hair change (I guess it makes sense being that she is a modern lady thrown into the '60s and her style of hair was not normal back then). Giving her a husband during her time in the '60s was a good add, but it only drove a bit of a wedge between her and Luther in my opinion.
