Young Sherlock Holmes
I remember seeing Young Sherlock Holmes as a child, me and Mom being the only two people sitting in an empty theater in the freezing cold. The theater manager, because there were only two patrons, obviously didn't think it advisable or worthy to turn the heat on. I suppose that made sense to him. It added something to the film, even, as the thing takes place in a freezing London winter in Victorian times.

Anatomy of a Scene – ‘The NZT-48 Pill’
"Worth the risk?...What would you do?" How often have you thought about the possibility of taking one pill per each day that would maximize your brain’s full potential? With the movie ‘Limitless’ with Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro, this film poses the answer in the form of ‘NZT-48’, which can allow you to access everything you’ve read, heard, and learned without any true effort. This kind of wonder drug is purely fictional but many people in real life seek this kind of legal short cut nowadays whether it’s to focus, to lose weight, to improve memory, or to retain more information. In the film’s early scenes such as the one that introduce this magic pill’s effects, we get to see what kind of effects NZT-48 has on Eddie Moura, the main character.

8 Movies To Watch About Fictional Musicians If You Like Biopics
[This article was written in July 2022 and originally appeared in Our Culture Magazine.] The recent premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic marks another addition to the recent onslaught of films and series based on true stories, especially about musicians. Pistol, the FX miniseries about English punk rock band the Sex Pistols, is another new release in this genre, joining the likes of Netflix’s Selena, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and recent films Judy, Rocketman, Respect, and Bohemian Rhapsody. Most of these biopics follow a very similar, almost formulaic structure, which can get tedious when so many similar projects are premiering in quick succession. Based on the careers of real musicians, these stories can only take so many liberties before straying too far from the truth.

My Top Horror Movies Part 2. Content Warning.
Hey, welcome back! It’s time for the second part of this list. This one will be a little different. When we get down to the final ten I’ll be talking more in depth about each of these movies and why I chose them. I could do that for every movie here but who’s gonna read all that? What I will say again is these are just my movies that I love and I know some of these entries might make you scratch your head, but but don’t be an elitist 😁. It’s all subjective right?

Ranking the Halloweentown Films
Okay I am fully aware that this is going to be my most controversial ranking article yet. Those of us that grew up with the Halloweentown movies feel very strongly about them. And that strong sense of nostalgia is what led to this list. I would also like to add that I did not come to these conclusions alone. I brought the perspective of nostalgia and many repeated watches, whereas my husband brings fresh eyes, logic and reason. That said, we agree on this list so no matter what your favorite Halloweentown movie is, this list does its best to be impartial. This list is from best to worst in the most relative way possible because honestly all of the Halloweentown movies are magic and there isn’t really a “bad” one.

Elemental
Elemental is a movie that I have been looking forward to for a while. I thought the trailer looked really cute and honestly Pixar has yet to let me down. I know there was a lot of talk about the animation style when it was first released but I think it really fits the story that the movie is trying to tell.

'POPumentary' and the Netflix Effect
Netflix is probably best known for its 'original' shows and movies, its additions of fairly new and exciting movies to its repetoire and unfortunately, its documentaries if they can be called that.

Ranking the Fast and Furious Movies
We are now at 10 Fast and Furious movies and now that we have seen all of them, let's make a list. I am ranking these movies from worst to best. Now a smart person would expect these to just countdown but there are some seemingly random placements here. Because let’s be honest there is absolutely no consistency, rhyme or reason to these movies whatsoever.

Fast and Furious
I feel like I’ve been watching these movies for 10 years trying to get to the first one. So we are about to rapid fire these last four. Keeping the chronology straight, or trying to, has been some batshit insane shit to try and do because absolutely nothing about these movies makes sense.

Most Bat-Shit Fast and Furious Moments
In my covering every Fast and Furious movie we have of course learned that they abandoned physics long ago. The Fast and Furious movies seem to operate more like comic books than action movies, with very similar rules to its characters. And since so many of its characters have done some truly superhuman things I think that it's time we talk about it. These movies have truly done some insane things so I thought I would list out the top most insane things that these films have ever done.

Best Comedy Specials
I am a huge fan of stand up comedy. I think it is the best way to disconnect and turn off my analytical brain. Even if I try to watch a tv show or movie for fun I end up breaking it down and analyzing it. With stand up comedy (as that is definitely not my area of writing) there is nothing for me to analyze. That said I have seen most of the specials on Netflix as that seems to be the peak of accomplishment for comedians. And I am here with the definitive list of funniest specials on Netflix.
