Ranking the Fast and Furious Movies

1-10

We are now at 10 Fast and Furious movies and now that we have seen all of them, let's make a list. I am ranking these movies from worst to best. Now a smart person would expect these to just countdown but there are some seemingly random placements here. Because let’s be honest there is absolutely no consistency, rhyme or reason to these movies whatsoever.

10) Fast and Furious 9 : The Fast Saga

Okay…look I just can’t get over the fact that they drove a car into space. There is just no reason for that, too many flaws in logic and physics. It was a whole lot of batshit crazy and truly truly terrible. Not even bad in an entertaining way, just bad.

9) Fast and Furious 8: The Fate of the Furious

Though the bar is extremely low this movie was not terrible. It wasn’t good either, rather it was an entirely predictable, basic and mediocre action movie. The best part of it was Jason Statham’s character and he entirely carried the movie.

8) Fast and Furious 7

So the timelines for these movies are so fucked and I really hate how they kept Paul Walker’s character alive but it still wasn’t as bad as the last 2 and for the last movie Paul was in it was at it's very best, fine.

7) Fast and Furious 6

This is where the quality starts increasing, due in no small part to Paul Walker’s presence. This is where we get Lettie back which also undoubtedly helped the story.

6) Fast Five

I have concluded that this is the Fast and Furious film I would use to describe the entire franchise to someone. It really is a culmination of all of the tropes that Fast and Furious has carved out for itself.

5) Fast and Furious 10

So again crazy things happened but it was at least somewhat entertaining. It earns its low spot because a lot happened, yet nothing happened. It clearly only existed to set up the next two movies but it was just chaotic. When people applauded at the end of the movie I was genuinely confused, some of y'all need to get it together.

4) Fast and Furious

This is the fourth movie and the plot isn't as out there as some of the other movies but it still doesn’t make much sense. This is the one where Letty “dies” even though we know that no one stays dead in this franchise. It also happens off screen which just feels really lazy and all of the connections feel shallow and forced.

3) Too Fast, Too Furious

Now I think the naming convention of this movie as a sequel is hilarious and we absolutely should have kept going with it. But other than that there was nothing special about this movie and that is exactly what I want. It was the most fast and furious movie that exists without having to be absolutely insane and that is all that I am asking for from these movies.

2) The Fast and The Furious

The first movie is just a nice little street racer movie about fast cars and lifting DVD players. It was fun, it was entertaining and we didn’t have to defy physics and logic. It also had some of the tightest writing and it reminds us that not everything needs a fucking sequel.

1)Tokyo Drift

This is actually the best movie of the franchise if you remember what order these movies are actually supposed to be watched in. Yes the timeline is fucked but as a stand alone film it is undoubtedly the best one.

There are 9 too many Fast and Furious movies and the quality and continuity are all over the damn place. These movies don’t actually make any narrative sense all together and if they would just call themselves a superhero franchise I would have more respect for them.
