Supergirl Was Good Actually. Top Story - September 2026.
I am going to go on the record as a defender of Supergirl (2026). This may seem controversial. After all, people generally did not like Supergirl (2026) for reasons I have seen very poorly articulated, and most criticisms I’ve seen stem from the fact that it is not profitable. (I have seen one article speculating that generative AI was used for Lobo concept art, but this allegation is not confirmed.) So let me break down the parts of it I liked, and speculate in kind why I think this movie was so poorly received.

They are brought to a Maya city, where Jaguar Paw discovers they are going to be sacrificed as a part of a ritual. With his life at stake, Jaguar Paw must find a way to escape. What makes his situation even worse is that his pregnant wife, Seven, and their young son are still hiding back home. Jaguar Paw knows he has to survive, not for himself, but for his family.

The Odyssey(2026) Review: A Brilliant Psychological Epic That Almost Gets There
Full disclosure: I came into Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey with sky-high expectations. After all, we are talking about The Odyssey — a cornerstone of the Western canon that has been translated, reimagined, and dissected. Set to music long before anyone had ever heard of Margaret Atwood or Claire North. Having read and enjoyed more than a few different adaptations, including (but not limited to) Emily Wilson’s landmark translation , Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad , Claire North’s Songs of Penelope Trilogy, and EPIC: The Musical , I was prepared to like this one a lot.
