The Beauty of the Kardashians
Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kris, Caitlyn and Kendall… It seems like we have always lived with the Kardashians, or even attempted to keep up with them (a little joke for those who know), and it seems like they are now an institution that we all love and enjoy.

Getting Started at Fantasia…Again…
It was good to be back. I did not know that I would really enjoy my return to the Fantasia Film Festival (July 16th to August 2nd) in Montreal. I realized that my money would last beyond the end of the college semester earlier in the year, and the private contracts that would run out over the summer…but things are not perfect. And I knew that another summer of scrounging for jobs and sending out too many applications for too little would be nothing but a sad way to enjoy it. There was the festival, and it was my fifth (?) year as a volunteer…if I decided to jump back in.

Villainess Blown Opportunity: Claudia Jordan Should Have Been the Banker in Season 2 (Deal Or No Deal Island)
When the first news of the Deal or No Deal Island program broke, I was all in! I was (and still am) a huge fan of Deal or No Deal ; I watched religiously on NBC when it aired a few times a week. I loved everything about the show, including and especially the show's host: Howie Mandel. I've been a Howie Mandel fan since I was five years old, back when he was doing Muppet Babies and more notably, Bobby's World.

Doctor Who Is A Lie!. Top Story - July 2026.
How dare they! I have been following this series since I was a young GenXer in the early 80s (the sweet spot for true fans of the shows), and discovered the adventures of the Time Lord and his companions stopping at various sites and spots, solving disasters and rescuing people, aliens and civilizations that often deserved their uninterrupted fate. That might sound cynical, but it does not take a genius to understand that there is an obvious pattern of the shows that no longer really works.

Survey Says: Family Feud's Still Iconic at 50. Top Story - July 2026.
As the saying goes, "Life begins at 50." I've been a huge game show fan since as early as the age of two or three. So yeah, game shows are basically my life. You name it, I've watched it on a loop. Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, the Pyramid shows, Hollywood Squares , among many others. One such show that I can't help but have fond memories of watching is the subject of this piece: Family Feud .

Villainess Review: Alyssa James (Picture Perfect Sister-In-Law)
We are just over halfway into 2026, and this year has been an impressive one so far when it comes to Lifetime villainesses. I am still buzzing over seeing Jamie-Lynn Sigler as a demented villainess in The Man in the Window, and I think we will see a lot more amazing villainesses as the year progresses. I say that because of a long standing theory I've believed for about nine years now: the best villainesses from any platform (including and especially Lifetime) come during the home stretch and playoffs in any sport. And the next home stretch month is September, oh man!

The Fast and the Furious Turns 25: The Wild Origins of a $7.5 Billion Franchise
1. One Magazine Article Created a Franchise In 1998, a freelance journalist followed a street racer through the back roads of New York City—and accidentally sparked one of the most successful film franchises in history. Kenneth Li’s Vibe article, “Racer X,” profiled Dominican drag racer Raphael Estévez, who tore through New York streets in a black Nissan 300ZX with no speedometer, believing that if you don’t know how fast you’re going, you won’t slow down. That philosophy and attitude became the backbone of Dominic Toretto’s character. A Universal executive read the article, sensed potential, and pushed it toward development.

Villainess Blown Opportunity: Where Do I Start?! (Powerpuff Girls)
This one really upset me. To me, NBC pulling the plug on the Wonder Woman series moments before it could hit their air was nauseatingly egregious, but I think this is very close to being as bad. I remember how excited I was when news of a live action Powerpuff Girls series was in the works, and set to air on The CW. The genius behind the series? None other than Greg Berlanti. I'm grateful to Greg Berlanti. He's behind so many of my favorite shows. Riverdale . Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. You. Hell, CW's Arrowverse! So when I heard about the PPG reboot and that Berlanti's behind it, I was all in.
