As many of you reading this may have heard, on the 23rd of June it was announced that Jackie Lane had passed away. Born in 1941, she had made a number of appearances in various BBC productions, including a role in the soap opera Compact, before coming to the attention of the Doctor Who production office for the role of Susan Foreman, the Doctor's granddaughter, when the show launched in 1963. MacGyver's Michael Des Barres – TV and Life's Rock 'N Roll Assassin
Photo by Kent Geib In 1967, Michael Des Barres first Kent Geibappeared on the scene next to Sidney Poitier in, To Sir, with Love. On stage, his role in The Dirtiest Show in Town got the attention of Andrew Lloyd Webber and led directly to the formation of the so-called glam rock band, Silverhead. He went on to quite literally survive the “decadence and indulgence” of the time that many of his musical contemporaries did not. Whether coming out of the era alive played a role in creating the assassin that was Murdoc is open to question. But selling his interpretation to the producers of MacGyver was a clear function of the excessive aspect of the age, and he definitely didn’t ease into making an impression.

Paula Prentiss and Richard Benjamin’s arranged marriage has lasted 61 years
Duing the early days of Tinsel Town, movie stars who lived together without benefit of marriage were frowned upon. This is why actors Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss were encouraged to get married. Unlike many other arranged nuptials however, the Benjamins are together today six decades later. The Night of the living duck: The final Looney Tune short to feature Mel Blanc
Swan song Mel Blanc has been described as the man with a thousand voices because he lent his vocal cords to a majority of the animated shorts that have thrilled us for many generations. His final short was a 6 minute Merrie Melodies offering titled "The Night of the living duck" which paled in comparison to previous work from Blanc. This is Blanc's swan song whether we like it or not. Some Baby Boomers have said that it seems as if the cartoon shorts and other work by Mel Blanc has been dummied down over the decades and lost some of the original magic.
