My Review of 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle'
Kingsman: The Secret Service ended on a high note, and it really seemed like that should have been the end of the movie. I didn't actually think that they'd pull off a sequel to the movie. A few years later, Kingsman: The Golden Circle popped up.

My Review of 'Big Eyes'
I didn't think much of the movie Big Eyes when it first came out in theaters. The trailer didn't particularly interest me but the subject matter was a little bit intriguing. Big Eyes is based off of the biography of renowned painter Margaret Keane, played brilliantly by Amy Adams. She was a victim of the patriarchal time that she lived in. Female artists could not thrive on their own merits because they weren't taken seriously. It's still not a great time to be be part of a minority group of any kind, but back in her time it was a terrible time for minorities.

Disney Gluttony Challenge
When Roman boasted that he was going to make a restaurant at Walt Disney World consisting of a variety of dishes from Disney movies that can either be guessed or replicated, no one really thought he was going to succeed. It took many years of saving money, talking to the right people, getting the right resources, and even signing the right paperwork, but he was able to get his restaurant to open at Walt Disney World, especially when he claimed that the House of Mouse likely did something similar to advocate to the diverse array of characters that visit.

Book Review: 'Everfair' by Nisi Shawl
On the surface, Everfair by Nisi Shawl is an alternative history novel about an imagined country named Everfair that was co-founded by black American Christian missionaries fleeing the oppression of post-Reconstruction era United States, indigenous Africans of several different tribes, and the British Fabian Society. Many black Americans did settle in Africa during the 19th century (see the country of Liberia for one example). African countries now are comprised of several different tribes. And the Fabian Society exists in our world even today.

Late Review: 'The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao'
Creating stories is hard. For one, a balance between the main plots and the secondary stories must be established. So many of the great films and books find their own balance, switching back and forth from one part of the story to another. The Godfather focused on Marlon Brando's Vito, and Al Pacino's Michael. Star Wars cut from Luke and the gang, to C-3PO and R2-D2 for comedic relief. Both in the Lord of the Rings novels and films, we cut from Frodo's journey to Gandalf to Aragon and his group.

The 10 Best 'Mad Men' Episodes
Not too long ago, I decided to sit down and watch Mad Men for the first time. I know, I know, I'm incredibly late to the game; but I've now finally seen it and I'll admit, I get the hype. Don't get me wrong, the show is far from perfect (it definitely has its flaws) but there are so many shining moments throughout.

Were You a Cabbage Patch Kids Mummy?
The Cabbage Patch Kids were the biggest toy fad of the 1980s. The most successful toy doll in the history of the toy industry. Every little girl wanted one. It was a must have Christmas present. Parents would search the shops for a Cabbage Patch Kid doll, which sold out very quickly! A riot even broke out in a shop, a week before Christmas in 1983; it made the front cover of Newsweek.
