In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we’re going to be thinking and rethinking about actors that I have personally called ‘awful’ in the past and seeing why I was wrong, and actors whom I called ‘great’ in the past and seeing why I was wrong. Hopefully, this helps you to identify how your opinion can change as a human being and how, through research and observation, you can make a more informed conclusion even if your previous one was the entire opposite. Film and literature is all about changing our opinions and if our opinions remain static throughout our study then we probably haven’t had the full experience of the subject at hand. We need to be open to change in our thought processes and really, that’s what criticism and theory is about. If we start by opening our opinions up to change on particular base level types, then we can slowly build these up to see how we could possibly change our opinions on a grand scale. I will start by rethinking actors and actresses I have either previously thought as not very good at their job or very good at their job and will be arguing the opposite; demonstrating my change of opinion. So, if you see the ‘rethinking…’ line in my title, you can bet it is a part of this series.
Annie KapurPublished 4 years ago in GeeksGeneral Hospital actor puts bullying fans on notice
William deVry recently addressed a growing social media issue which is fans overstepping and insulting soap stars. A few weeks back Kelly Thiebaud who is deVry’s current love interest on General Hospital was bullied online. The actress had just returned to the ABC daytime drama and was wearing bangs. Mean spirited viewers attacked her said some pretty mean things. Thiebaud addressed the issue in a very polite way but she never should have had an issue to address. Now, deVry who portrays Julian Jerome has had several post-COVID hairstyle changes but the responses I have read about his hair have been positive. In his recent tweet, he addresses fans who obviously have said something about the mane of Chad Duel who portrays Michael Corinthos, on GH.
Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in Geeks3 Quick Lessons from Joe Rogan that Will Help You Dominate Your Industry
The year is 2009, and Joe Rogan is debuting his first JRE episode. He’s unaware of the planetary recognition he is about to receive. The first podcast originates in his bedroom with a comedian and co-producer, Brian Redban. The duo is using a webcam with a snow effect, and I’m struggling to understand a single word that comes out of their mouth.

In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we’re actually going to be learning about literature and film together. I understand that many of you are sitting in university during difficult times and finding it increasingly hard to study and I understand that many of you who are not at university or not planning on it are possibly stuck of what to do, need a break or even need to catch up on learning film before you get to the next level. This guide will be brief but will also contain: new vocabulary, concepts and theories, films to watch and we will be exploring something taboo until now in the ‘filmmaker’s guide’ - academia (abyss opens). Each article will explore a different concept of film, philosophy, literature or bibliography/filmography etc. in order to give you something new to learn each time we see each other. You can use some of the words amongst family and friends to sound clever or you can get back to me (email in bio) and tell me how you’re doing. So, strap in and prepare for the filmmaker’s guide to film studies because it is going to be one wild ride.
Annie KapurPublished 4 years ago in GeeksWhy You Should Read More
Do you want to know how serious I am about reading? Bibliophile, the word printed on the plate, residing on the front of my car, will tell you as much. Not to mention that it is ironically spelled wrong "Bibliophle" instead of "Bibliophile" as there was not enough room for one letter, and the "i" was on the chopping block. To the average eye though, you probably wouldn't notice, but to the reader's eye, it's a whole different story. Look at me using puns.
Grace GenetPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "17 Again"
17 Again came out back in 2009. I remember seeing this movie back then and enjoying it but I wasn't too sure how it would translate to 2020. It didn't hurt that I didn't have any interest of anything that was on at the time. After watching it I noticed new things that I didn't really notice before. There are a ton of things that would probably be frowned upon today of course but I'll get to that.
Brian AnonymousPublished 4 years ago in GeeksA Filmmaker's Guide to: "Capote" (2005)
In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we are going to explore some of the films that have changed our outlook of the possibilities in cinema in some way, shape or form. These can include, but are not limited to: revolutionary cinematography, narratives that challenge the social structure and the common view, trademark styles of auter cinema, brilliant adaptations of novels and other works, films of philosophical value and films that touch our hearts and souls with their incredible underlying messages and morals. Within each of the films in this chapter there is a certain something that makes them special and a certain something that makes them linger long after we have watched them for the first time. Lasting impressions are difficult to create, but I think that the films we will briefly touch on in this chapter are some of the films we will never ever forget.

Japan Sinks 2020 is one of Netflix’s 2020 anime originals, and it had a lot of hype for me going into it. I saw lots of people tweeting about it, and I heard it was great, so I decided to finally buckle down and watch it. I’ll just say now, this is a spoiler review, so if you don’t want anything spoiled, stop here, watch it, and come back when you’re ready!

Zara MillerPublished 4 years ago in Geeks'General Hospital' fans still divided over a Julexis reunion
There is no denying that William deVry and Nancy Lee Grahn have great chemistry together on screen. General Hospital viewers, however, disagree and it be the fault of those in power. It is unfortunate that the writers have done everything they can to kill the magic between this couple and had them move on. Viewers, however, continue to be divided on the subject. There are some diehard Julexis fans who believe that everything that is taking place will lead to a reunion. Others say the relationship was toxic and are glad the couple is no longer together. what is interesting is that neither of them has found anything lasting since getting divorced.
