Review of ‘Winter, White and Wicked’
Winter, White, and Wicked is one of those novels you want to love because it has such an exciting premise. Labeled as a novel that is both parts Frozen and Mad Max: Fury Road, the reader, expects a high tension, action-packed, emotional ride of a story. Instead, it falls short in many ways.
Cyn's WorkshopPublished 4 years ago in GeeksDark Quartermaine history repeats itself on 'General Hospital'
Wednesday on General Hospital there was a chilling exchange between Ned Quartermaine and his daughter Brook Lynn that seemed like deja by to longtime viewers.. The two were talking at the apartment of Detective Chase, where BLQ has been sleeping on the couch since leaving the hospital. Ned tried to talk his daughter into returning to the Q mansion but she refused. Brook Lynn is still angry that her father disowned her over the shares of stock she gave away and ended up in Valentin's hands. Ned has been apologizing profusely ever since his daughter was attacked by Nelle, but she will not accept it. As they were talking on Wednesday, Ned mentioned the relationship between Traci and Edward and implied the past might be about to repeat itself.
Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksA Filmmaker's Guide to: "Dr. Zhivago" (1965)
In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we are going to explore some of the films that have changed our outlook of the possibilities in cinema in some way, shape or form. These can include, but are not limited to: revolutionary cinematography, narratives that challenge the social structure and the common view, trademark styles of auter cinema, brilliant adaptations of novels and other works, films of philosophical value and films that touch our hearts and souls with their incredible underlying messages and morals. Within each of the films in this chapter there is a certain something that makes them special and a certain something that makes them linger long after we have watched them for the first time. Lasting impressions are difficult to create, but I think that the films we will briefly touch on in this chapter are some of the films we will never ever forget.
Annie KapurPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMovie Review: 'The Secret Society of Second Born Royals'
Disney's latest original, The Secret Society of Second Born Royals made me nostalgic for the days of the Famous Jett Jackson or Cadet Kelly. At least those movies were made with an awareness that they were low budget filler intended only for the undiscerning minds of grade schoolers. The makers of The Secret Society of Second Born Royals have made something that pretends towards Harry Potter with super heroes and ends up an abyss of mediocre predictability.

Jide OkonjoPublished 4 years ago in GeeksThe NOT Indiana Jones Collection
The late 90s-early 2000s were an interesting time. We already got a Star Wars revival in the prequels, and so I feel that there was this Indiana Jones void waiting to be filled. The world was ready for another classic feeling adventure movie. And so we got what I call "The NOT Indiana Jones Collection." A series of mostly unrelated movies that attempted to recapture that Indy/adventure serial energy.
Danny DuffPublished 4 years ago in GeeksTop 10 Best Masks in Movie History
Among many other things, 2020 has turned the mental checklist of “phone, keys, wallet” to “phone, keys, wallet, and mask.” You can’t walk outside without coming across someone wearing a mask (hopefully), and when it comes to movies, any new one that has a prominent mask is immediately linked to the current moment in some way. Yet, as we know, the mask has been a vital piece of film for almost its entire existence, acting as shorthand for thievery, identity crises, heroism, and pure evil. Also, putting a mask on a character almost always looks neat!

Flynn HillPublished 4 years ago in Geeks10 Great Non-Fiction Novels I Have Read in 2020
I have read a great set of non-fiction novels during 2020 and in this article, I want to share some of those with you. The influence for writing this article came from seeing others posting about great non-fiction books they had read and taking inspiration from other recommendations on my Goodreads and social networking accounts. Non-fiction has been on the rise for me lately since fiction and especially fantasy fiction have moved unfortunately further and further away from my to-be-read lists. It was something I could appreciate far more when I was a teenager. Since I became twenty-one, I’ve wanted to read more and more non-fiction and not just true crime, there’s historical non-fiction, there’s biography and autobiography, there’s philosophical non-fiction and essays etc. I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction lately and this year has been my most prominent year for the genre. Hopefully, you too can get some recommendations from this list and if you’ve read any of them (or all of them) then that’s even better. I would love to see your lists of recommendations as well!
Annie KapurPublished 4 years ago in Geeks'The Suicide Squad' Spin-Off Series 'Peacemaker' Starring John Cena Coming To HBO Max
We are at a time when we are getting live-action comic book shows that tie into live-action comic book films. In 2013, the MCU got this treatment with the addition of Agents of SHIELD, and then later Agent Carter. Other shows said to be set within the MCU did not really do much to tie into the films, though that will change with Marvel Studios’ live-action shows that are coming to Disney+ during Phase Four. However, it is not just Marvel that is using this strategy.
