The Vocal Top Story Drug. Top Story - February 2023.
Introduction I don’t know if this is just me, with my imposter syndrome and feelings of inability and inadequacy, but maybe others may feel this as well. I also understand that people who have never had a Vocal Top Story or Challenge win or placement may see this as a red flag or bragging on my part, but it is not. I know many great creators who have not been recognised for some excellent creations, and I am not sure what to actually do about it.

California DMV Data Sharing and the Quiet Privacy Fear
Most people don’t think about their personal data when they stand in line for a driver’s license. It feels routine. A form, a photo, a signature. But behind that simple process, information moves in ways many don’t fully understand. The topic of “california dmv data sharing” has started to raise quiet concerns, not because something dramatic happened overnight, but because people are beginning to ask deeper questions. Where does their data go? Who can access it? And how much control do they really have? These questions are not just technical. They are personal. Because when it comes to identity, even small uncertainties can feel bigger than expected.

Refined Russian Propaganda
Author's note: I came across this document accidentally on Facebook when a colleague published it as an example of new effort to develop modern ideology for Russia. Despite the fact that the country is still at war with Ukraine (it is never mentioned in the document), the Russian ideologues feel that they need a new program for keeping the country from falling apart. It is a long marvelous document that I could summarize as "Something old, something new, but nothing true." I do not expect anyone to read it in its entirety, as it is probably extremely boring for people who are not specialists in propaganda and rhetoric. But I'll just leave it here for public reference. The original publication in Russian starts on p.18 at this link

For something worth just one cent, the humble penny has sparked a surprisingly big debate. For centuries, ships were sunk in the ancient Libyan harbour.
Near the port of Ptolemais, an ancient Greek city in what is now northeastern Libya, researchers have discovered a more than 100-meter-long field of ancient shipwreck debris, indicating that several vessels were lost along the same shoreline approach. The discovery reframes the harbour as a recurrent maritime hazard that influenced how ships arrived at the city rather than as a singular disaster site.
