Rey And Kylo Ren Duel In Concept Art From 'The Rise Of Skywalker'
It has now been a year since the release of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. It feels like a lifetime ago, given the weirdness of this past year. There has been, unsurprisingly, a lot of discourse surrounding the film and what it could have done better. From early ideas that did not make it to the screen, to words from the actors themselves about the process and their reactions, The Rise of Skywalker has been left with a reputation among many as a film that did not satisfy everyone as a conclusion to the Skywalker saga.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismThe Nature of the Cosmos
Very few cultures have the Norse perspective of cosmogony (a view on the origins of the cosmos). The Norse cosmogony enlightens a culture aimed on orderly civilization protected from the anarchic outside, a perpetual cycle of creation, and the gods settings an archetype for which the warriors efforts were patterned. From the constant give-and-take involved in creating life to the high value placed on honor and competitive accomplishments, the Norse have evolved their view on the cosmos based on their grand narratives that give meaning and sense to the world that is much more timeless and universal than other religious cultures. Before the Norse were converted to Christianity, they thrived with their own highly sophisticated and intricate religious customs. As they were forced to convert to Christianity, many of their texts and myths were burned to ensure their conversion. Even with such events, a plentiful amount of medieval texts were left untouched in Iceland; this is where most of our knowledge of the Norse religion stems abundantly from. The Norse peoples wrote myths involving the creation of the universe being ongoing and participatory, the consequences earned for winning a noble battle, and the importance of helping the Gods defeat the giants even though they are aware of their preordained defeat. In the Norse creation myth, we see the sacredness of their beliefs and continuous acts in keeping the cosmos perpetual through every exploit and action made.

Zuleika BoekhoudtPublished 3 years ago in FuturismWe Might Know The Plot Of Taika Waititi's 'Star Wars' Film
Disney Investor Day was on December 10, but it still feels like yesterday, given the huge impact that the announcement of future Star Wars projects had on the fans. We got announcements and updates pertaining to ten Disney+ shows for the franchise, and we even got an update on the feature film side of things. On Disney+, we are getting an animated feature film titled A Droid Story, featuring the classic duo of Artoo and Threepio as they guide a new character. On the theatrical side of things, we got confirmation that the next theatrical film will be Rogue Squadron, which is currently targeting (See what I did there?) a December 2023 release. This Patty Jenkins-directed film took people by surprise, given that we had not heard prior that she was in talks or attached to anything. One name that we had heard, however, was Taika Waititi.

Jonathan SimPublished 3 years ago in FuturismEarly Pastoral Tribe
Early History: Pastoral Tribe The sun shone down on the steppes and plains, glinting off the tall reeds, which swayed in the soft breeze. I gently swiped a small bead of sweat from my forehead as my hands cramped from the constant motion of milking. I had been at this work for hours, jumping from one cow to the next, filling one container of the white liquid after another. I knew that my clan desperately needed the trading resources if we were to continue thriving, but, still, I grew drowsy from nature’s soft whispers. A large bee almost hummed me to sleep, but my thoughts cleared as a woman’s distant laughter shook me. I got back to work. After I filled a few more buckets with the rich milk, I stood up from my small stool with the bucket in hand and walked into our small abode.

This was a little thing I wrote way back in late 2015. I know that many things have changed with space travel and finding proof that life exists out there. But I just wanted to share my thinking from a couple of years ago. So enjoy my little side thought about life and finding life in other galaxies.
