Gunshots rang out across the midnight-black deck, pirates shouting as they raced from one ship to the other. Sabine struggled to her feet, squinting in the darkness—the only light came from the pale moon far overhead. "Somebody better light a damn lantern," she growled, making for the lower deck, sword in hand. She stepped over bodies on the way, glancing at each face to make sure they weren't members of her crew.

The Pit "This way! This way!" Hissed the guide covered from head to toe in crimson robes that almost blended in with the light from the torch he waved about in front of him as he leads his five charges deeper into the cave. Stopping abruptly at the mouth of a spacious cavern beyond, the guide spun on his heel to face us. "Last chance to back down. Once you pass this threshold, it's not just a matter of life and death you should be concerned with, but your very existence. So few are about to make it out again, most just become lunch for the horrors. It's gotten worse in recent years, you lot with your fancy guns and cell phones, you have no clue what you're up against."
Tiggerish Eeyore (Aaron Wood)Published 3 years ago in FuturismLittle Black Book
It was time for me to go, not just go away for a little while but forever. I could hear the voices telling me that everything about my family was wrong and everything I am is going to change the world. Where would I even go? I felt hopeless that my family will never accept me as the chosen one, so I believed I was because the command hallucinations pretended they were Godlike and informed me that I was to become someone else. I kept a journal in a small black book to understand the delusions that were going on in my head that I could not control. I told my mom I was the chosen one and had to fight Satan. She looked at me with confusion and horror in her eyes. As my dad woke up from his sleep, he asked what I meant. I repeated myself, “I’m the chosen one and had to fight Satan from you guys” He looked at me the same way my mom did. Then, I knew they wouldn’t understand.

His job required him to change past historical events to reflect the present-day reality. In some cases, this meant completely erasing history, while in other cases it necessitated a quick rewriting of a past article or document to reflect the happenings of the current times. Either way, Winston felt twinges of guilt as he realized the fraud committed on the people of Oceania.

He also dabbled in smuggling from time to time, which inevitably got him into trouble with the Outer Rim authorities. He had been successful at bribing his way out of those predicaments.
