'Star Wars' Fans Have Just Recently Heard Harrison Ford's Priceless Response To Force Ghost Question
Yes, even a year later, we are still talking about Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. Though, to be fair, there is a quote from an interview about the movie that has, strangely, not spread a whole lot across the internet until recently. This interview with Harrison Ford was published by USA Today all the way back in February. More like USA Yesterday in this instance, am I right? (Okay, that was a lame joke. I apologize.)
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismMy Review of "The Mandalorian: Season 2"
The Mandalorian: Season 2 starts off right after the first season left off. Now that we've been introduced to all of the main characters the story can continue in a much broader direction. You really do have to watch through the first season to really understand or get a grasp of all of the character relationships. This way you'll truly appreciate this second season.
Brian AnonymousPublished 3 years ago in FuturismRayne Roberts To Co-Produce 'Star Wars: The Acolyte'
Star Wars: The Acolyte is one of the various TV projects that was announced to be in development on Disney Investor Day a couple of weeks back. Headed by Leslye Headland, it has been described as a female-centric mystery thriller series set toward the end of the High Republic era (which is just beginning to get some exploration in new books and comics). Since it is set in an era that we have not seen on the screen and will be presented in a genre that we are not necessarily used to for the franchise, it sounds like it has potential to really push the boundaries of Star Wars.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismThis Is The Darksaber We Have All Been Waiting For
The Darksaber has become such an iconic weapon in the Star Wars universe. A viewer can be impressed by their first view of it, whether it be in animation or live-action. The story of the Darksaber is part of the appeal, as it has its origins with a Mandalorian Jedi and eventually got passed down to some of the familiar characters that we have come to know across some of the TV shows. But of course, the awesome design of it is also part of the appeal. One could have easily made a lightsaber with a black blade that is pretty much the same shape as all the others. But the blade looks more like a katana, and the hilt is also very creatively designed.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismWhat 'The Mandalorian' Post-Credit Scene Means
A post-credit scene? Not in my Star Wars! How dare they change up the format! All that joking aside, this post-credit scene (as well as the lack of concept art during the end credits) in the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian did catch people off-guard. We had just seen Luke Skywalker. We had just seen Din Djarin say goodbye to Grogu (at least for now). With the exception of the dangling thread of the Darksaber, it seemed that everything had been tied up somewhat neatly. However, there was a lack of Boba Fett toward the end, and the post-credit scene made up with that.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismMoff Gideon Actor Giancarlo Esposito's Daughters Pleaded For Him Not To Hurt Grogu, His Response Was Priceless
By now, you have probably seen the season 2 finale for The Mandalorian. Many were worried about Grogu, given that he was kidnapped by Moff Gideon a couple of episodes prior. We saw the lengths that Din Djarin would go through in order to retrieve Grogu, even going so far as to take off his helmet. Thankfully, Din got a team together and was successful in retrieving Grogu before he needed to be given away. Many people cried over the departure of Grogu for the show, and there is speculation that people might not follow the show as closely now that Grogu is out for the time being. Only time will tell whether this comes true. However, Moff Gideon, though apparently in custody, seems like he could still be in the picture in some way. He has been an interesting villain so far, and we learned that he just wanted Grogu's blood for...something. It is still a bit of a mystery, which may lead one to believe that this thread is not yet finished. Could he go after Grogu again?
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismThe Mandalorian and A Rekindled Flame For Star Wars.
I was probably 8 years old the first time I watched Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. 10 or 11 the first time I experienced the trilogy as a whole. This was when I was truly hooked, enthralled. The wild array of alien races in the Mos Eisley Cantina, droids, the mystery of the Jedi and their force powers, Han and Chewy. It goes on and on. The number of times I viewed these films in my youth is undoubtedly in the triple digits.
Nathan TannerPublished 3 years ago in FuturismRey And Kylo Ren Duel In Concept Art From 'The Rise Of Skywalker'
It has now been a year since the release of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. It feels like a lifetime ago, given the weirdness of this past year. There has been, unsurprisingly, a lot of discourse surrounding the film and what it could have done better. From early ideas that did not make it to the screen, to words from the actors themselves about the process and their reactions, The Rise of Skywalker has been left with a reputation among many as a film that did not satisfy everyone as a conclusion to the Skywalker saga.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismThe Mandalorian: Examining Grogu's Possible Destinies Post Chapter 16 'The Rescue'
It should be fairly obvious and clear that the following comes with a massive Spoiler Warning for 'Chapter 16: The Rescue' and The Mandalorian Season 2:
We Might Know The Plot Of Taika Waititi's 'Star Wars' Film
Disney Investor Day was on December 10, but it still feels like yesterday, given the huge impact that the announcement of future Star Wars projects had on the fans. We got announcements and updates pertaining to ten Disney+ shows for the franchise, and we even got an update on the feature film side of things. On Disney+, we are getting an animated feature film titled A Droid Story, featuring the classic duo of Artoo and Threepio as they guide a new character. On the theatrical side of things, we got confirmation that the next theatrical film will be Rogue Squadron, which is currently targeting (See what I did there?) a December 2023 release. This Patty Jenkins-directed film took people by surprise, given that we had not heard prior that she was in talks or attached to anything. One name that we had heard, however, was Taika Waititi.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in Futurism‘The Mandalorian’: Season 2 Review
This is the way. Every episode of season 2 of The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney+. I loved season 1 of the show, and I think many of us were very excited to see what season 2 would have to offer. So I am now going to give a brief review of each episode with MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.
Jonathan SimPublished 3 years ago in FuturismYou Have Never Seen This Blooper From 'The Empire Strikes Back'
While the announcement of even more Star Wars stories, nine shows to be exact, arriving on Disney+ in the next few years, is exciting, sometimes some nostalgia for the original trilogy is what is needed. Star Wars fans can almost universally agree that while the newer prequels, sequels, and spin off movies may be good or have good parts to them, the originals will always hold a special place in fans' hearts. And let’s face it, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope revolutionized so much. It did so well bringing an amazing science fiction storyline the likes of which had never been seen before.
