For The Newcomers
What is the hype? If you are anything like me, if a lot of people love something, you probably hate it by default. Why would people care so much about this show or this movie? It can't be all THAT great. It took me four years to finally watch Breaking Bad, only to binge the entire final season in the two days leading up to the series finale.
Intro: Everything is Star Wars

Star Wars Novelist Shares His True Thoughts On 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'
Pretty much everyone who has seen the sequel trilogy has their opinion it and the individual films that make it up. Arguably, some of the most interesting opinions to hear are from those who have worked on Star Wars in some capacity. One such opinion that has recently gained attention is that of Alan Dean Foster, who was the ghost writer of the novelization for the original Star Wars film, as well as the writer of the first Expanded Universe novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye, an Attack of the Clones prelude of sorts titled The Approaching Storm, and the novelization for The Force Awakens.

The Mandalorian season 2 had no shortage of memorable moments. There were various directors and different feels for each episode. This gives each director a chance to put their own stamp on the Star Wars universe on the live-action front. It may not be too far-fetched to say that the show has become a testing ground for directors, as some of its contributors are moving forward with other projects within the franchise. Deborah Chow is working on the TV series Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Taika Waititi is working on a post-2023 Star Wars film that many speculate will take place in the far-flung past. Right now, the franchise has no shortage of directors, given that a TV show can allow for multiple directors for different episodes.

Some of the best Star Wars stories are in the books and comics of the franchise. While much of the older such material is now the non-canon Star Wars Expanded Universe, rebranded Legends after Disney's acquisition, post-merger books are considered canon.

Tom Kane, known for voicing such Star Wars characters as Jedi Master Yoda and Wulf Yularen in the animated side of the franchise, suffered a stroke a couple of months ago. As a result of this stroke, he is mostly unable to speak. This change was unknown to most fans of his work until his daughter Sam posted an update on his Facebook page. In that post, dated December 30, she had the following to say, giving fans and people who know him in general an update on what has been going on:

It is a very exciting time to be a fan of the Star Wars books and comics. Starting on January 5, Lucasfilm will be launching Star Wars: The High Republic, and will be introducing fans to a new era of Star Wars set 200 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. Since announcing The High Republic in February of 2020, Lucasfilm has been releasing details about the project in interviews and promotional material. One of the most exciting aspects of the project is a brand-new cast of Jedi characters. The folks over at Star Wars LibriComics have taken the info about the various Jedi and complied it into a great infographic. The chart list things like what project each Jedi will appear in, and other info like rank and lightsaber color.

Some of the best parts of films or TV shows are when fans get to see concept art for the production, especially if it is a sci-fi or fantasy story. At the end of each episode of The Mandalorian, concept art is shown during the end credits of the episode. Some of it looks like what actually made it to screen, and some of it does not. For example, in season 2 of The Mandalorian, "Chapter 12: The Siege" had Grogu eating what looked like a blue macaroon cookie. In the concept art during the credits, the cookies were not colored blue yet.

One of the best things about the second season of The Mandalorian was that fans were given a look into the life of popular ex-Jedi and former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano. Since she left the Jedi Order after being cleared of false charges not long before Order 66, we've enjoyed seeing where she ended up after that. When fans first heard that she'd be in The Mandalorian, there were high hopes that we'd be in for a real treat.

It might have taken Luke Skywalker more than 40 years, but he finally got those power converters. Ever since Luke's iconic whininess appeared in A New Hope, fans have poked fun at this Star Wars inside joke. It's a line easy to mock. One of the more lighthearted and memorable lines from A New Hope. Even Robot Chicken took a crude shot at it. And now Mark Hamill himself is in on it. Just like how Hayden Christensen acknowledges the funny awkwardness of the "I don't like sand" quote, Mark Hamill took to twitter with a photoshopped image of himself standing in front of Tosche Station, gleefully holding a power converter:

Several behind-the-scenes images of Rosario Dawson’s epic appearance as Ahsoka Tano have appeared. Season 2 of The Mandalorian concluded a very satisfying season for fans. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni promised and delivered on every teaser shown before the release of the episodes. A few fan-favorite animated characters made their live-action debut this season. The most anticipated among them was Ahsoka Tano.

This season of The Mandalorian has been a whirlwind of reveals and appearances from many people across the Star Wars universe, but for those who stuck around past the end credits of the last episode, they really beat themselves at their own game with the reveal of a whole new show. While fans were excited, this left a lot of questions since really all we got was a short clip and a reveal of the title. Finally one question has been answered: The Book of Boba Fett is a completely different series than The Mandalorian season 3.
