Lars Mikkelsen Has Reportedly Been Cast To Play Thrawn In The 'Ahsoka' Spinoff Series
While the long wait for The Mandalorian season 3 stretches ahead of us and The Bad Batch and The Book of Boba Fett seem all too distant, there is no shortage of reports about the galaxy far, far away. According to Small Screen, sources close to Lucasfilm have revealed that Lars Mikkelsen will be reprising his voice acting role from Star Wars Rebels and transitioning the character of Grand Admiral Thrawn into live-action. This comes as an unexpected surprise, but a welcome one to many Star Wars fans. Mikkelsen has honed and perfected the cold, calculating, methodic cadence of Thrawn during his work on the animated show. The meticulous and scheming Chiss is already a fan favorite villain due to the success of writer Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy. Thrawn, along with Jedi-in-training Ezra Bridger, are currently MIA, courtesy of hyperspace-faring creatures summoned by Bridger in the Rebels finale. These tentacled space whales, known as purrgil, encased Thrawn's flagship, the Chimaera, in a cold embrace and whisked it away, with Thrawn and Bridger onboard, into parts unknown. Now, at long last, it seems we will learn their fate.

One of the new concepts that were introduced in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker was that of the Sith Wayfinder. The movie itself didn’t reveal much about the pyramid-shaped devices that resemble a holocron but are something vastly different; these ancient artifacts were created by the Sith in order to navigate the dangerous hyperspace to the Sith world of Exegol, deep in the Unknown Regions at the western part of the galaxy. There were two of these devices: The first one was owned by Darth Vader and later acquired by his grandson Kylo Ren. The second one belonged to Darth Sidious and was on the second Death Star at the time of its destruction.

In a season full of spectacular reveals and debuts of characters, a simple name drop may have been the most impactful of all. With her white saber blade held to the Magistrates throat, Ahsoka Tano demanded to know the location of her master. "Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn?" While many suspected Ahsoka's mission would be the tracking of Thrawn, hearing his name so meaningfully dropped in an episode of The Mandalorian was extremely unexpected and caused a cheer from Rebels and Expanded Universe fans alike. In the animated show Star Wars Rebels, Thrawn proved to be a cunning and ruthless villain, while also being extremely competent for an Imperial. This all made for an incredibly intimidating antagonist for the Ghost crew.

The ending of a movie is arguably the most important part of it. It's the main thing that the audience is going to remember once the movie is over. A good ending can turn a bad movie into a decent one, turn a good movie into a bad one, or enhance a masterpiece. It's always interesting to see how a film could have ended, and to discuss whether that would have improved the original film. For example, in the original Alien film, the xenomorph was originally supposed to rip Ripley's head off, then mimic her voice for the famous "signing off" monologue, which would have made Aliens impossible, and nobody wants to live in a world without Aliens. It would have also spared us every single movie after Aliens, but still...

If there is one thing that you cannot stop anymore than you can stop the twin suns of Tatooine from setting, its stopping Star Wars fans from arguing about Star Wars. Possibly the biggest target of this animosity is the eighth installment of the Skywalker saga, The Last Jedi. This movie came under fire from a large and very vocal group of fans who claim everything from it being the worst Star Wars movie ever made to that it completely destroys the Star Wars mythos, rendering the rest of the saga moot.

The prequel trilogy of Star Wars has gained a following over the years, but it has not been without its criticisms. A fair number of fans felt that the story of the trilogy could have been executed better. To go into all of the things that such fans believe could have been done better would be a bit of an undertaking, but overall, aspects of the trilogy felt very different from the original trilogy. These movies and the characters and factions who appeared in them were not always how fans who had only seen the original trilogy expected them to be.
