Part VIII: Hot Summer Bods in Women's Sports & Fitness

Shining as bright as the sun and having summer fun

In our eighth edition of this series we feature five women who go hard in competition, have fun off of the court and field. We've got volleyball players, track athletes and one hooper who continue to showcase self-determination in the classroom as student athletes and work ethic while training to become top competitors in their respective programs.

This installment may be the hottest one yet as we continue to showcase and support the best and brightest women in sports and fitness. Times may be hard but these women give us hope that things will get brighter and there is a reason to smile. Welcome to our eighth installment of "Hot Summer Bods in Women's Sports & Fitness." We will run this series throughout the summer.

Mariah Lesure

Senior Mariah Lesure placed third at this year's 60 meters final at the WAC Indoor Championships meet. She was her Cal State Bakersfield's top sprinter with a 7.61 finish in the 60 meters and a 25.39 finish in the 200 meters.

This talented beauty has brains as she just finished with a bachelor of science in kinesiology. Her social media followers are priveledged to see her various fashion looks as well as action in her sport of track and field.

Jaelynn Murray

While Jaelynn Murray had to sitout the 2019-20 season after a season ending knee injury, during the preseason, she's scoring points as a fun follow on TikTok and Instagram. Her near 14,000 followers on TikTok get a peak at her charisma as she shows off her dance moves.

A junior at North Carolina, Murray was a supurb competitor in high school. In 2017 she was named the Gatorade South Carolina Player of the Year. During her first season as a TarHeel Murray was the team's second best shot blocker.

Annah Stanley

After transferring to Thomas More University, midway through her freshman year, Annah Stanley made an impact during her first meet. The versitile performer placed second in long jump, was a member of the third place 800 meters relay squad and was fourth in the 200 meters during the Bob Shannon Invitational at Denison University.

This athletic young lady with a 1,000-watt smile has used her presence on social media to help promote social events around southwest Ohio and also to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

Alana Walker

During the 2019-20 season senior Alana Walker was one of the most productive volleyball players at Northwestern. The middle hitter led her team in blocks (109) and was third in kills (237). She had her best game of the season when she posted 13 kills and eight blocks against Miami University.

With over 86,000 followers on Instagram, Walker's fanbase is getting bigger by the day. Followers can see her jaw dropping photos showing her amazing physique from places such as The Bahamas, Santa Monica Pier and Miami Beach among other places.

Janell Williams

Sophomore middle blocker Janell Williams led Western Michigan in blocks per game (1.19). She also ranked second in the Mid American Conference in that category. Williams was the MAC Defensive Player of the Week following a season best 12 blocks against Toledo, Nov. 9, 2019.

At six-foot-two, Williams is a favorite to become the best defensive player in the conference this year. In fact don't be surprised if she becomes one of the best in the nation!
